The white team started the three seniors TJones, Welter, and Barrow
The purple team started the three sophomores Alexander, Louis, and DJones

Is this correct?

Who else played? Howd Granier look? Phillips did not dress out correct?
Semi-related: how did Feist play?

Welter looked pretty undersized for a MLB.

Once fall comes I think Barrow, Jones and Alexander will be your starters.
Welter, Louis, D Jones will be 2nd team and Feist may get pushed back to LB if the fr DE's come in ready. Beckwith and M Jones will push to get on depth chart. I still think Beckwith ends up at DE somewhere down the line.

Louis got dinged early, I think, and Granier played quite a bit. Welter didn't look bad, but everything was base vanilla on both sides of the ball.

Kwon looked the best IMO, followed by Barrow and Jones. Kwon went on a stretch where his name was called on every play...beast.

Good for them! From where I sat, he was in on a lot of tackles. Exactly where did he look bad? The purple team didn't gain anything up the middle. The coaches have him first team for a reason.

Welter looked bad, and it was against a walk-on center and 2nd team OL. Desperately have to do something for our middle backer.

What game were you watching exactly? Not trying to be a dick. I'll look at the stats later but it looked like he was getting pushed around

They have him on 1st team because he has seniority and they are giving him the chance to show them he can be the starter. And it doesn't sound like he has done enough. They know we have the young talent at LB to move Barrow to M and put Kwon at strong. But they gave Welter the opportunity to show them he can be the guy. Doesn't sound like he did that

Yea, he was around the ball a lot, but he's a MLB. You're always near the ball at MLB. Looked like he had trouble against the back up OL and a walk on C. And I saw him get dragged a few yards multiple times.

Plus, I think our LB unit would be better wit Barrow at the MLB and Kwon at strong side.

There is not one thing you could do to possibly take up for him. He got blocked with ease and then jumped on piles for tackles. Freak and Ego were going against a walk-on center, I'm so happy the purple team couldn't run up the middle. He met Kenny Hilliard in the hole one time and he got dragged for 8 yards sideways.

Post the replay and then I will believe you. Honestly didn't see him or anyone else get dragged for 8 yards. I was impressed with the tackling from the entire team. I did see Hilliard bounce off a couple of tacklers on an outside run. Haters gonna hate.

The replay of the game was posted yesterday, go stare at him every play if you want to.

And Hilliard had a run where he and Welter met in the hole. It barely phased Hilliard and he bounced it outside while other guys kept jumping on trying to bring him down and Welter was hanging out for dear life.

You don't want your MLB just hanging on.

we know how this will go. If Welter continues to be put in the starting MLB spot, no matter how poorly he does, people will claim they trust Chavis' choice. This is not an illogical stance, but even if Welter continues to show he lacks sufficient talent to stay in the role, the same group will continue to support him starting while those who attempt to discern objectively will realize that he simply should not be beating out the more talented sophomores for a place on the field. Yes, Chavis knows more than anyone on this board, but that does not make him any more correct in starting a LB who is less effective than his more talented backup.

Nothing to do with him being white, just that even if he shows he's not up to the task, people still won't call for his replacement because they trust the coaches blindly. The coaches obviously know more, but they still can be too reticent to make the switch.
