Miles and Alleva made this mess. Chavis was wise to move on. Cam was making equal pay and he has witnessed first hand the decline of his former boss and program. Sumlin is on the ascent, with more hunger and imagination and an AD who has an eye for talent.

Alleva = Joe Dean redux. He needs to be removed. Once the new AD is in place, he will put his people in which means adios Lester.

Well, Sumlin is 0-3 vs LSU.

I'm moving on. Alleva isn't going anywhere so I'm going to live with it.

This alone should piss off any employee.

Chavis did it the wrong way. Supposed to be a leader to these kids and he bolts with his tail between his legs. Funny no players are really talking highly of him. Seems his way letting his players know was about as good as his 2 minute drill defense.

His salary should be commission based. You don't work you don't eat.

I hate CLM and Alleva but there is nothing that can be done about it now. They thought that they had the upperhand in the negotiations, but they were so wrong

I think Alleva is tired of playing games with Agents for more money

LSU was #1 in staff pay and Miles is not the top paid coach either...so the assistants are already getting paid!!!

Chavis wanted that 4th year and a guarentee pay out if Miles wasn't the coach

Chavis wants some kind of retirement package I guess?

And he wanted to make sure Miles was going to be around and I guess Alleva couldn't go more than 3 years on that
assurance???

It's interesting.

Part of me is glad Alleva held his ground. The other half of me is mad we just lost a solid DC to a rival.

It's looks real bad for Miles and LSU

Correction - 0-3 vs Chavis, so he hired him.
Sumlin also has a better bowl record and is .500 against Saban.

Alleva held his ground two years too late and with the wrong employee. The new contract for Miles was the poison pill for the program.

Maybe you should get over Chavis leaving and move on. I don't want a guy who leaves LSU in the manner that Chief did. We could be in for an even bigger hire so relax.

11-2
9-4
8-5

That's Sumlin's ascent?

Well now some folks are saying this was all designed by the two of them for JC to leave and that CP was in place before JC left

We lost our good DC to a division foe. There is just no way that this is good news. Try to spin it however you want, but Aleva and Miles should have never let this happen and everyone knows it.

Looks like Miles' record, but he wins Bowl games.
