Special teams changes during bye?

How comfortable does everybody feel with our ability to control field position? In a game like this field position will be huge. I mean there isn't much you can do to get keehn to punt better. But 33 yard net punt average is ridiculous. Every game is kept closer by the field position and mistakes we give up on special teams. My biggest question is how does everybody think the special teams can improve during these two weeks we had to prepare?

I'm confident in saying that the coaches focused on improving special teams lay over the bye week.

They've been working on it, obviously. More than the punts, I'd like to see some brutal tackles immediately after the catch. They've been getting blocked too easily.

I'm hoping for some missed fg's from Bama. Flips field position and momentum. He hasn't made one from beyond 40 this year.
To answer your question, I think it's possible for special teams to improve quite a bit. It's really a matter of discipline for the coverage units.

You know people use to bitch about it but I remember way more starters on special teams then now...maybe it needs to get back to that a little more....have some defensive starters covering more punts and kickoffs...I know there is an injury worry but still.

And it doesn't help that Bama has a great returner in Christian Jones who I feel like has been at Bama for a decade now.
