Whos made the trip to South Carolina in the past to watch the tigers?

We'll be there a couple days early - wanted to get some opinions of the hot spots where Lsu fans are known to gather up for drinks, talks, and good times. I've had good feedback on this board in the past and look forward to opinions.

All Interstates going in and out of Columbia are closed right now. Water should go down by Wednesday but the city had a main water break and is a complete mess. As you can imagine, football is on the backburner there. My prayers go out to those guys.

I'm actually beginning to rethink going on this trip. Just doesn't seem like it would be a good time for SC to have company. Also, I know how hard it can be for first responders to get hotels, and I would feel like a little bit of an arse taking up a room to see a football game. I know the water will be down by then, but there will still be a lot to do from a response standpoint.

Was going up to Columbia also. Made the trip in '08. Had a nice time. The State Fair was going on so my daughter and I went in there a few hours before kickoff. Met some great people tailgating across the street from Bojangles who despite out declinations fed us and kept me in beer and the daughter in cokes.
All of that is inconsequential now. All of that is probably under 4' of water until noon today of so. I'm waiting for the hotel to email and tell me my reservations are cancelled so they can house refugees.

I'm actually kinda hoping that I get the same email. That will make this decision a lot easier.

Really hope this doesn't screw the trip to see a game at Williams-Brice.. never been before and probably not going again any time soon.

I just called and cancelled my reservation. Not that she is an expert by any means but, the lady (Ashley) at the desk of the Holiday Inn Express on Garners Ferry said there is no way they are going to be ready for Saturday. She said there is no way in or out of the area and they have employees staying at the hotel because their houses are filled with water.

Yeah I'm getting nervous. We are supposed to fly into Columbia on Friday. Is this game going to happen?
