Welter. (Now that the coaching dust has settled)

Im sure Welter is a good kid and gives max effort but it was obvious that he wasn't up to par. What took Chavis so long to make the switch? Our D was immediately better after the switch.

He had some similar head scratchers previous also. (As far as personel went)

Anybody really know?

it took him a season and a half to pass a 5th year senior (one year he was suspended for grades so you may not want to count it)

Maybe he looked like the bowl game at practice? As if anyone here knows the answer to this.

I liked Welter but Beckwith did prove to be a better LB.What I would like to know is what happened to Beckwith during our bowl game against ND.He was no way as agressive as he was during the season.I can't remember him being in on very many plays. Was he injured?

The whole defense was like this in the ND game. It was weird. Something was just not right...but now we know why.

You guys are so funny with this stuff

Beckwith looked bad in the bowl because the line got dominated. That's why Welter looked so bad, because early in the year the DL was getting whipped (also, Welter wasn't as good).

The reason it took Beckwith so long to earn the starting job is that he was confused about his assignments. On some plays Beckwith's confusion cost us two defenders, Beckwith and the guy trying to explain his assignment to him (usually Mills).

... Beckwith was indeed injured before the game... The trainers were working on his leg during warmups.... Just saying....

Game planning by ND. Some of you don't realize that at this level you cannot "out athlete" the other team. You have to trust the game plan and your reads on the field. He is not football smart at this time...

The fifth year senior was suspended for a year, not Beckwith.
