Really wrong time to double.down

Eh, head coaches back up their assistants and that's without the long relationship he and Cam have. He also had to know if they were forcing his OC out, if he even made it to next season, they'd force an OC hire on him. At that point you might as well just get it over with.

Ensminger - LSU will use far more play action passing.

Is this possible

The play action pass is meant to be used on running downs. When we use it on 3rd and 7, it has no effect whatsoever in bringing the lbs and safeteys up.

That's exactly what Miles did, doubled down and lost. Still gets to walk away with $millions in chips, but somewhat humiliated by being fired in the beginning of football season after winning a NT for LSU.

Nick Satan fricked us by announcing (in fricking January) he was leaving for the Miami job. All of the top choices were taken already.

Exactly, throwing on 1st down or on short yardage downs are the times to do it, become unpredictable but in a good way.

Mikes wanted out IMO. He knew the deal was up.

I wondered about this myself. He had lost the handle and was burnt out. Sometimes folks in this situation simply need a little nudge. A couple of years from now, he'll be counting his blessings and his money.

This past week with Etling was the best play action in 3/4 years.

Miles/Cameron = Dinardo/Tepper

Imagine the clusterfrick of Cameron and Tepper being coordinators on the same team. That would have been a nightmare.

Still needed better execution, better vision, and better clock management, all of these can be fixed but never were.

I have some feeling of sympathy for Les although a change in head coaches was necessary.

I have no feeling for Cam. If he was this great friend of Les', he would have been busting his arse out there to keep this man head coach. Didn't happen.

I'd rather not, sort of like this election.

Saturday weren't we 27 pass vs 32 rushing? I felt like we didn't rush enough

Not on first downs, not when LSU was expected to run, and not enough long to medium routes, mostly extremely short routes. LSU never moved out the defense of Aub from the box.

Not much difference from January, most coaching vacancies are filled before the Christmas holiday for a reason.

I read that and Marcellus Wallace's speech to the boxer in Pulp Fiction about "pride" comes to mind

With Les, was it too much pride or too much stubbornness, likely a combination of both.

We never have, but this hire isn100% on Joe. With two botched Basketball hires under his belt, if he fricks this up, he is next. I doubt we take a flyer on an unproven / unknown coach .
