Some rational thought for the irrational.

1) The season is not lost. This season will progress positively or negatively based on the health of the team. If we have Lawrence and Herron for State, they don't rush for 200+ yards. If we have them for Florida and Au. I feel good about where we stand. If not, will be a long season.
2)It was apparent to me, playing 20 freshman, we were exposed by their youth. Safety and lb's bit on a play action pass for t.d., Rt Guard missed blocking assignment on 2nd and 2, Corner's, lbs, and d.e. didn't set the edge. All mental error's due to lack of experience. This will improve.
3)It's not O's fault he was hired. He deserves the time (3 years) to put his stamp on the team/program. This program has been short on talent in the offensive and defensive line's since 2011. (The 2011 recruiting class was the decline of the program) He is improving the d. line talent. Key, Lawrence, Alexander, Logan, and Ferrell are guys he got in his 2 1/2 years here. If you look at The texas tech transfer and Shelvin. The d-line looks to be in good shape for the future.
4) A new offensive scheme takes time to learn and execute. Losing Dupree, who didn't make a team, and May T/D. Campbell, really hurt the offense as well.
5) I believe the rant put's way to much stock in Coaching. If you look at the best "coaches" they have the best "talent". O's success or failure will depend on his ability to evaluate talent, recruit it, and manage his roster accordingly. This is something that has been lacking since 2011.
6) I do believe LSU needs to start recruiting the d.t. qb. LSU has a history of struggling to field great offensive line's. Our line is good enough where a really good d.t. qb could take advantage of the defensive pursuit. This would Keep defenses honest rather than pin their ears back to rush the passer. It would open up the run game as well.
7) O's biggest challenge is having a faction of the fan base that never believed in him or gave him a shot. They are now screaming for his head after one loss. These folks didn't believe or like miles and probably won't like the next coach either. He needs to stay the course and ignore the irrational. Do not pander or play to the fanatics. He's forgot more football than them. He needs to trust his people, himself, and ignore the noise.
8) I wasn't for or against the O hire. He is the coach at LSU, now. I'm giving him a chance to correct the deficiencies on this team. At this time it's youth, depth, and some spots talent (tackles, Wr's).

Look at this past weekends game and O's Ole Miss teams.
Are you sure you want O to leave his stamp on this program?

his main sales pitch was continuity
that IS is his "fault"

O's philosophy is to rely on his coordinators to make sure we succeed
that means that we will have a lot of OCs come during his tenure. if what you say is true, then holy shite he's a bad hire

We didn't play 20 freshmen Saturday.

People like you will never get it. Blinded, irrational, and one agenda.

I assume by "stamp" you mean "headstone"?

Sure, there are also many coaches who do a lot with less talent.

Well O has been involved in the recruiting and assessment of talent at LSU for years, so...

O's biggest challenge right now is not losing his team, the fanbase has no effect on his gameplanning and coaching

Hopefully he's forgotten the entirety of his head coaching stint at Ole Miss

41 upperclassmen and a fifth year senior at QB. Try again.

Coaching is the most important aspect of any team. I'd rather have an excellent coach with bad talent then a bad coach with excellent talent.

Some rational thought for the irrational.
Replacing the most successful HC in a school's history with the least successful HC from a much less accomplished school is probably not the best way to improve.
There really isn't a more simple rational truth than that in all of this mess

Hang in there pal....life goes on. I know it hurts, but it will get better I promise. Take a deep breath. It's just football.

Change your screen name man. No way in hell you are a doc with the shite you spew on here. More like a shift worker at McDonald's

Can't dispute a fact so result to name calling? I will definitely take you seriously.

These two statements pretty much invalidate the "rational thought" narrative, but carry on.

Here are the only facts I know. O at LSU is 8-3. He is above .500 in the sec. Was a bad loss, but the reality is we suck in the trenches...and have been hit hard with injury and suspension bug. I have enough emotional intelligence to realize we win the next two, and hopefully get some of these people back for the sec stretch. Also, hopefully key gets in better shape over the next few weeks...no excuse for that. Those are all the facts that I know. I'm sorry I'm not crying abour O in every thread like a little bitch like you.

OP you are right on. but these people don't want to hear it. with their dying breaths they will be calling the name of Les Miles, the greatest head coach there ever was or ever will be. they will go to their graves believing this and will never forgive the administration for firing miles, nor anyone who dares contradict their opinion on the subject. pretty sad, really.
