[quote]Yeah the NFL could've done that. BRPD probably didn't do anything to help things either, But who knows what really happened. And his camp stating if you draft me after and two I won't play for you didn't help.

They never release names but somehow his got released. Someone should be on the chopping block at the BRPD for leaking his name.
I recall hearing that Lael's agent contacted all the NFL teams to let them know the situation and that he wasn't involved. Maybe he's the dumb frick here. (but I have no idea who/what to believe or not)

Also Yeldon was a steal at Jacksonville even though he was in the second round. He'll have an Lacy/Rice career minus domestic assault.

Has anyone been charged with the murder?

No. They can't get into her phone to get the necessary evidence.

quote:

Investigators said the shooter likely was someone Mills knew. They have looked to her cellphone for evidence, but her phone, like many others, uses software that is said to block anyone from accessing its data, including investigators.

While they have tried to crack the phone using possible pass codes suggested by family members, investigators have been unsuccessful.

“We don’t know her code number,” Mills’ mother said. “It may very well be a very important part of the investigation.”

Even Apple, the manufacturer, claims it cannot decrypt the phone.

“From what we’re told by the company that makes the encryption, the only way we can get into a phone is if the phone subscriber gives the password to us,” Moore said. “When you’re dead, it’s hard to give that to us.”

Can't he get a big contract a year earlier now though?

Yep. All he had to sacrifice was 11.39 million dollars so he could have the potential to get a second contract in year 4 instead of year 5 or 6. Basically, it was the worst bargain ever.

Not for everyone. When I trade for him in Madden...it will be a hell of a bargain.

He got screwed out of first round, after that teams would have used a pick on him as early as second round but the agent basically pulled him out of the draft which was a smart move considering the deal he got from the Cowboys and he will be able to get to that second contract sooner than other rookies. I have a feeling he would have been the selection over Peat for Saints. Until they find the killer I have a feeling it will still follow him around, who knows if he was involved at all.

La'el's agent and lawyer also didnt do the best job during the unfortunate situation

this is correct. As I said in numerous posts at the time (and got blasted for it) La'el should've been screaming from the rooftop that he was innocent and been beating down the door of the police (and also gone to the media) offering to provide any information they wanted and answer any question without lawyering up. That's what innocent people do, especially where timing was absolutely crucial.

I blame his handlers more than anyone.

meh, I always find that to be a lame excuse (for laziness). Whether it's her, Lerner, or Clinton anything incoming and outgoing went through another computer/server/network somewhere. The devices themselves do not exist in a bubble and just like if you put send a dick pic out (Weiner) and then delete it off you phone, that data is now outside that device, stored (usually temporarily!!) somewhere else, and is now "out there".

On Lael suing...
I've always said the day after he retires he should sue unless there's some statute of limitations. He's ok for now and don't want the NFL targeting you. But money lost is money lost. All he needs is 1 general manager saying "yes, I would have drafted him in the first round if it hadn't been for ESPN insinuating he was indeed involved".

And I would hope the players union has some assistance/input/interest there. I don't put it past SOME franchises and MANY agents to use this as a tactic in the future when the opportunity presents itself.

That's actually the blueprint for how innocent people end up in jail.

Nope. It's how innocent people clear their name.

And get drafted in the first round.

Brpd loves arresting LSU players and plastering their names in the press. The chief or lt said it thus summer that the burglary arrests would have gotten zero press if they were not LSU players. I'm not saying no one deserves to get arrested but it is obvious the the brpd treats these cases differently

I love Lael, but this case was a murder. Solving that case is a lot more important that where Lael is drafted by the NFL

Your right about the burglary case though, but BRPD isn't the responsible party here. They don't pick and choose what the media prints or shows. It is more of a news story when a LSU player get arrested than you average crack head.

and it was more his agent and the media that blew his situation out of proportion. The cops said from the start that he wasn't a suspect. They just wanted to talk to him because he was a friend of the lady.

Sidenote: remember that poster that claimed he had inside info, and Collins was leaving the interview with the cops in handcuffs.

No it really isn't. People that don't understand how criminal investigations work go to jail by doing what you think is a good idea. The police can't clear you. They investigate crimes, they don't clear anyone. People who don't know what they are doing screw things up and make it worse for themselves routinely.

This Explains Why for People Who Don't Know Why, But Would Like To.

Please don't ever do what atltiger6487 says because you think it will "clear your name" or it is what "innocent people do." Get good advice and follow it. That's how the system is supposed to work.
