Looking back on his draft saga, I have to say, that was all pretty damn ridiculous to me now. Did anything even ever come of it? Or did the BRPD just say, oh my bad and we never heard about it?

Its pretty fricked up that the NFL didn't let him pull out of the draft to clear his name and apply for the supplemental draft

Yeah the NFL could've done that. BRPD probably didn't do anything to help things either, But who knows what really happened.

Hopefully he has a great career but nothing is guaranteed.

Sensationalism claims another victim. All we want is outrage and scandal, regardless of its veracity or cost.

Talked to my dad about this last week.

The guy got absolutely fricked by BRPD and the NFL for not letting him clear his name.

They never release names but somehow his got released. Someone should be on the chopping block at the BRPD for leaking his name.

shite got me heated

Can't he get a big contract a year earlier now though?

Meh... I agree, but cops aren't held accountable when they murder people, break into the wrong houses and hold naked women at gunpoint before "frisking" them or commit a myriad of other crimes the rest of us would be doing 20-to-life for.

I seriously doubt anyone will be held accountable for this given the other shite they get away with.

Yep....

Lael def got screwed, but he didn't lose as much $$$ as people think. He signed a 3year, $1.59m fully guaranteed. And since he was an UDFA, he can get a new deal after year 2, so after the 2016 season he would be able to renegotiate for a new deal. 1st round picks have 4 year deals with a 5th year team option. So if Collins impresses and does well, he could get a big deal after the 2016 season while other rookies would have to wait til 2018 or even 2019 with that 5th year team option.

Still got screwed though.

Dallas pulled this off and did it in the classiest way possible. Gave him his own press conference to welcome him like he should have had. Gave him a short contract that way should he perform well he can get big money after instead of a low paying long contract. He'll be fine. Especially since he gets to play with a chip on his shoulder. He was the legitimate steal of the draft.

Also Yeldon was a steal at Jacksonville even though he was in the second round. He'll have an Lacy/Rice career minus domestic assault.

Good for Collins. I'm really proud to see so many LSU players, both high profile and lower, succeed.

Just a small list to think about and smile:
Landry, Beckham, Rebuen Randle. Patrick Peterson, Reid, Mingo, TM7, Blue, Ford, Hilliard, Magee, Flynn, Minter, Kwon.. List goes on :)

And it's more than just money. Collins stayed his Senior year at LSU to get better and to help out LSU and the Baton Rouge area. So the biggest day of his career, anticipation and fun of being drafted stripped from him and purposely. The BRPD, the DA's office, whoever it was that summoned him should be more than sued, but fired. The person that did this, did it for one reason so bring attention to themselves. Get some media time, 15 minutes of fame. They stole this young man's big day and I for one make sure whoever really pulled the trigger on him, whether it be BRPD, the DA, the Judge, or whoever benefits from that day should be sued. And when their day comes, I say screw them over by bringing a protest to them for negative publicity, so they lose their race for Mayor, Governor, Representative, DA, or whatever office or deal they supposedly benefits from and give them the shaft.

But to my boy La'el you don't worry about it. You just keep working hard, practicing hard, learning hard, and helping your team win. I am a huge Cowboys fan. I am also a huge Saints fan, so I was hoping you landed on one of my teams. With the unfortunate injury of Zack Martin an awesome OL, I think La'el may get the start. I think Martin played Guard and La'el officially play OT, but with him playing all the positions but center at LSU, I don't think Dallas will hold back such a talented guy from starting if it's possible..
