My point is that I believe Rettig and Jennings (likely Leslie, RSJ, and others) didn't find out about this after they signed.
It is very likely this deal was agreed upon in principle before NSD and while the details were being worked out, the information was used to recruit and assure recruits.
Obviously I have no way of knowing, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a factor in the RSJ "reconsideration".

Unless you believe Miles came to this agreement some time after Wednesday morning and the contract was developed and signed in less than 3 days
or
Miles knew Cam was to be the new OC and didn't share this info with his biggest commits and biggest targets on his board (RSJ)
or

I wouldn't be surprised if this is Rettig's response. I know that Krags was the key recruiter for him. That said, it's not like he was fired. He'll still be around the program.

Agreed upon earlier? Yes. Announced to our recruits? Not a shot! I've been around the block enough to know that secrets like that can't be kept if you tell more than zero people. A small group can keep a secret sometimes if they have money or something riding on it, but the minute someone else finds out it will start spreading. If you learn one thing from old wizened Penrod, Grasshopper, let it be this: if you want a secret kept, tell no one!

Rettig and Jennings were both Early Enrollees it could have happened after they signed.
