Assuming he decides to retire, how does LSU handle this situation moving forward? Next year will be 10 year anniversary of 2007 championship team. Does Les make an appearance? Does LSU one day invite him back here for something like that? I think as time moves forward LSU fans, if they haven't already, will look back at Les as a great coach who brought great things to LSU but just ran out gas and failed to change. But I feel all opinions will be positive as time moves on.

What say you

I hope like hell he comes back and takes a cake administration role where he just shakes hands, kisses babies, and promotes the brand like HBC at UF.

he'll get recognized at anniversaries of '07 and maybe '11 but that's about all. '07 was luck and the rest was a waste except maybe '05.

I hope Les sticks around Baton Rouge and LSU gives him the respect he deserves moving forward. No hard feelings, it's just business. He's a great guy to have on our side and his support and happiness is paramount for the program and the state of Louisiana.

he should be included as part of the fabric of LSU's athletic department

les was a bizarre head coach, but honestly a really good ambassador for the school. shite just got out of control fast and he lost the ability to save it.

Charlie Mac was fired and he has a practice facility named after him. That tells me LSU got over firing him.

In a close to perfect world?

LSU hires Herman. Orgeron gets mad and quits. Aranda hires his own DL coach. Miles is hired as recruiting coordinator.

honestly, he just stayed around longer than most coaches can at a given school...no bad feelings at all on my part.

Dude is fired and the bromance continues. Seriously. Someone tell me what the fascination is with this guy. Hes a millionaire who got paid it to coach a sports team.

LSU should get a statue and the respect of all for his contribution. Should be done next year.

i honestly don't know if he knew how anymore. we declined hard after 07 but he was able to get it together for a little while. after 2011 he was pretty much broken.

If McClendon or Saban don't have a statue why would Miles?

I don't think it'll be a sour one....I've always said I love Les.....in the offseason. I think many fans feel the same way.

i mean maybe firing his buddy Cameron, or even agreeing to fire him when his job depended on it, would've been a good start.

I think he stays in BR for awhile, and a good chance he retires here. He's done coaching, but will probably get a studio gig. I think Les would love to travel around the country with Gameday.
