Saw this guy's bowl pick em on espn.com this morning, and he sounds bitter about LSU winning the first matchup.

Picks Bama with 32 confidence points

It almost seems like he has something against LSU.

Oh, now it makes sense

I don't have espn insider, but apparently LSU made him look like a fool in the first game, so he has hate in his heart for the Tigers.

I understand some people picking Bama, but this guy is obviously a moron. But then his first column probably proved that.

To be fair, I picked LSU and put it as a 35, but it's because I'm a homer, not an idiot.

I could care less how my bowl pick em comes out if LSU loses.

I kept mine at 35 too. Mainly because it was too much trouble changing up the confidence points on 35 goddamn bowl games.

How did LSU make HIM look like a fool?

Are you familiar with his predictions? He basically uses computer sims and then vomits them out in an article, takes a bit of credit for it and goes about his business. The computers predicted LSU had less than 40% chance of winning...so LSU embarassed the computers.

Now its #1 vs #2. You ARE allowed to chose the #2 team to win...even its a rematch, without being a compelte moron.

Yeah, first thing I thought when I saw it too. Didn't make sense to me, but apparently he is an Alabama homer after reading his stuff about both games.

So I'm guessing you think HE didn't write this?

quote:

LSU is an outstanding, well-coached team with a top-flight defense and a powerful running game. Unfortunately for the Tigers, this game doesn't really have much to do with them. Alabama is a championship team on a championship mission, and LSU is simply in the way.

We've been beating this drum all year, but Alabama's defense is absolutely not "one of" the best in the country. It is not simply the nation's best in 2011, but rather a once-in-a-generation defense. That's not hyperbole. It's also what we should expect given the Crimson Tide's perfect set of circumstances. The sport's top defensive coaching staff in terms of both scheme and technique is, in its fifth year, at the very pinnacle of its recruiting and player development machine.

I understand if he uses a computer and all that, but to say that Bama will blow out LSU makes him look like a fool. You can predict someone winning without saying it will be a blowout. And everyone in the nation except crazy people knew it would be close.

Good grief. That's the very definition of "hyperbole".

defensive coordinator John Chavis earned a well-deserved Broyles Award, but the result of the first game just obscured the greatness of this Alabama defense.

Maybe one day LSU will be able to walk on the same field with the almighty Saban Bama defense and be allowed to get a sniff of the greatness that is Bama.

Are you his mother? One second you defend him saying he is just posting the results of computer simulations. The next second you imply he is writing over the top material for more visitors.

So the computers spew out the data that is most likely to formulate a crap piece that will get more visitors?

Apparently this Harris guy has the dumbest computers too, because his computer started off 7-7 in 2007. Found that thread when I was searching for anything on him from TD. He also picked Ohio State to win the MNC against LSU that year.

And I wonder exactly who programmed these computers anyway? Surely he couldn't be responsible for the formula that he puts his name on and bases his picks off of.

Funny how this is a once in a generation defense when the PSU team they controlled got held to similar numbers by freaking TEMPLE.

Bama's defense is very good, but they've literally faced one of the worst collection of BCS offenses that I've ever seen.

Is that the dude that picked int 31-3 Bama in Nov?

I don't know him, but I'd say its not "butthurt" or that he has anything against LSU. He picked Bama as a "once in a generation" defense and claims that's not hyperbole. Guess he doesn't understand the definition of hyperbole or contradiction

Anyhoo, guys like that make a living off picking right, with that comes a lot of hubris. He can't admit he was wrong, its not personal, just business.

I usually put the LSU bowl as my 1 point just so I don't have to care
