Keep in mind that Miles loves Rivers. He has said that Rivers has a better understanding of the playbook than Mett. However, he can't make the throws Mett can...

Bolden's still on the updated roster, whereas the transfers are not. not saying he can't still leave, just found that interesting.

Heard Miles has a thing for black women.
Miles meets Jennings mother, Jennings is put in the game and never comes out until he graduates.

Said this a million times. 2011 had plenty of opportunities for Mett to play. 2012 not so many for Rivers. We need to get 2nd and 3rd string QB's some reps when able.

Not sure when exactly everyone would like to always see the backups in the game. Yeah, we blew a lot of teams out in 2011. However, when you have a 42-7 lead late in the 3rd quarter you can't exactly bring the backup in and start slinging it all over the yard with a 5 touchdown lead. After what, 4 games Mett went to third on the depth chart? How many third string QBs do you see ever take meaningful snaps or snaps period?

For the record, Mett did play in the only true blow out in the first 4 games which was Northwestern, he threw 11 passes in that game. Tough to get a third string QB many more reps than that.

I just wish we had a #1. U people are so high on Mett, what did he do last season? He showed up against Bama & then regressed the rest of the season! Don't expect a top QB for at least 2 to 3 more years. Maybe when we get a QB coach!

I don't understand why Bolden AND Randall would transfer, unless they both think Jennings is just that good of a dual threat. I think the "brain trust" is preparing to go to a 2-QB system with Rettig and Jennings.

If it works, I'm for it - if it doesn't work, I'm against it. (This is the Rant, after all.)

Was talking to a friend of mine on the team the other night. He said Rivers has stone feet worse than Mett. Everyone is complaining about how badly Mett moves in the pocket, this could be even worse if Rivers doesn't speed up a bit.

This offense needs a Cam Newton or Tim Tebow to be successful.

It's not about "movement" in the pocket. Dan Marino might as well have been made out of stone, particularly in the latter half of his career. Know who he beat out for the job for the Dolphins? David Woodley, who was mobile as a motherf*cker and moved really, really well in the pocket.

No, what our QBs have to do is DELIVER THE BALL or THROW IT AWAY. The fact they can't reflects poorly on the OC and QB coach. It's not complicated, 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi - if it is not there, THROW IT AWAY.

I agree with you. I don't know why we even recruit pro-style QBs. Our offensive scheme just doesn't allow that type of QB to be successful. If JJ wasn't such a dumb arse he was the perfect type QB and I think that is why he had the success he had.

No he's not the guy. I've been to numerous practices and scrimmages and he's not the answer. He's not any more mobile than Mett and does'nt have the arm stregth or accuracy. I see his only chance of taking snaps at LSU being an injury this year to Mett. I also look for us to redshirt one of the two incoming freshmen.

Is there any reason to believe this other than him being the son of a coach?

He's not very highly recruited and all he did this past season was hold a clipboard and wear headphones.

Wounldnt Mett has gotten significant snaps last year? Wouldn't he have been better this year b/c of it?

After getting 150 snaps each week in practice and about 4,000 total for the year, I'm sure he'd be worlds better for getting 50 snaps against crappy teams with a second string OLine blocking for him.

Little Rivers gonna make everyone forget about Mett when he gets his shot.
