There is not, nor has there ever been, any emphasis by this staff to limit turnovers. It's not a matter of talent or lack thereof, it's a matter of sloppy, unsound basketball which Jones apparently has no issue with his team playing.

ETA: Right or wrong - Jones doesn't make much of a scene on the bench when a player makes a mistake. But why do you think Gray sat the bench after he shot an airball late in the second half last night?

What do assistant basketball coaches do besides wear suits and hold clipboards? Maybe he could use better assistants...? Clearly Johnny can recruit..

I would think that as long as he shows a steady improvement, he should be ok for awhile. Unless he does like his predecessor and shows potential before falling off the cliff.

We don't have the coach. if we keep recruiting at this rate will have final four talent every year but get killed in the NCAA by mid majors. Lack of focus, no half court offense, you can't beat good teams playing street ball.

CBS projects LSU to be an 11 seed.
That will change but for now, #11.
In this CBS scenario, LSU opens vs #6 North Carolina, meets 3 seed Utah and then 2 seed Villanova, then 1 seed Duke. the games vs Villanova and Duke will likely be in NYC.
If LSU falters just a little, but still holds on to an 11, they will have to have a play in game vs another 11.

Johnny's gonna get a lot of rope. He has a lot of big hitters on his side, and no one really gives a shite about basketball.
That and his recruiting acumen will buy him a lot of time.
I sure hope he learns how to command more respect from his kids in that time he gets. IMHO his biggest issue is he can't seem to get his kids to carry out simple directives that he what he wants them to, like not jacking irresponsible shots, communicating on defense and valuing ball possession. For me that's more concerning than actually having no clue,
I think he has a clue, at least at an average relative level, but he can't motivate his kids to execute at the simplest fundamental level.
