How do we lose our pre season all conference/all-American corner and still finish number 1 in pass efficient defense?

Or do we just give all the defensive credit to every member of that staff aside from Miles and all the offensive let downs to Miles and no one else aside from a few murmurs of Cameron?

Oh right he only touches the offense in practice so therefore this argument works.

Miles has never ever coaches defense. Ever. He played OL and coached OL and TE. He doesn't do anything with defense and never has. The defensive coaches do. With that line of thinking, you should be putting some blame on Chavis for our offensive woes.

Also, preseason accolades are pointless. Because when RR was playing he was not playing at an All American or All SEC level. Not 1st or 2nd team or honorable mention. He struggled this past year when he was playing. And White is and has been a better player than RR. And RR / Collins were splitting time and Collins was out playing him. So our "preseason All American and All Conference player" was actually our CB3 on the field.

Well part of it is that teams didn't have to pass because they spent half the year running it straight up our dicks with #31 in the lineup.

This is going to be one of those threads where rantards say that Miles has zero effect on the defense because it fits their argument.

All you Welter haters better hurry and get your licks in now, there is only one game left in his college career for him to be the butt of all you folks lame jokes, pissing and whining. Maybe you should try out for the team next year so you can show him how to really play middle linebacker.

They should go intern coaching too since their X's and O's on the Tiger rant can make immediate differences in our scheme.

I agree with you, man.

A majority of the fanbase, at least that shows up on this board, for whatever reason despises the man.

He's not the best coach that ever walked the planet by any means but he goes toe to toe with some serious programs and usually wins.

I knew the "he doesn't coach defense" thing would show up in this thread. Well, who hired Chavis? Who personally recruited Mett? Who hired Cameron?

Some LSU fans are stupid. Les is the best thing going for them.

Be careful what you wish for. The school could end up with another Curly Hallman and then what?

Sounds like a bunch of spoiled brats.

Corey Raymond is a good coach now? Because I remember the rant wanting him fired after how much our "DBs regressed and didn't get better" after we lost 3 of our 5 DBs going into 2012 and how two freshmen corners could start because Raymond wasn't progressing others at this position.

Short term memory loss or what? It's okay, every coach on staff but Miles is good. Even our NFL OC sucks because Jennings was held back his first year instead of throwing 30 passes a game for the sake of "Balance and excitement"

He's not the DQ... That's a rediculous attempt at sarcasm.

this - sometimes I wonder if the OT Lounge is where the sane folks reside - the rant and the poli board is where all the not so sane folk live.

Then he's also not the OC so deserves no criticism for our lack of offensive production.

The man is 60 plus years old getting paid 4 million plus. If you think he sits down with his thumb up his arse when it comes to defense (especially when he's an old school grind it out coach) then you guys are delusional and only looking for negativity.

he runs a tremendous program and LSU has the highest paid assistance in the business.. but his struggles are in the development and trust in the quarterback position solely. it starts with a mindset and philosophy that is set up for failure. he doesn't handle qbs well or put them in the correct position to have success.

I love Les, but another span of him being hard headed to a fault and taking the program down to another 3 and 4 loss season with his guy will be the end for me.

Stop living in the past and settling for decent mediocre results. Louisiana since 2000 has had tremendous football talent that with LSU being established now.. the majority come here. Unlike other major programs that fall off, LSU does not have any major in state schools to recruit against. I use to be under the belief hiring another coach would be scary business.. but with the lack of developing a quarterback.. I don't see LSU ever winning a legit national championship. Especially now with a playoff. Oregon lost their coach to the NFL, and they are still in the hunt every single year.. LSU can and will remain a national power with or without Miles. The foundation is here to stay with the amount of talent there is.

LSU is absolutely loaded full of talent, to the point if you took every single SEC West Coach there is right now and put them at LSU.. They would still not drop more than the 4 games they just lost this season.

Again, I appreciate and actual support Miles. But he is losing me with the lack of developing quarterbacks and being hard headed to a fault with his guy.

Think about it...great talent on defense is hard to screw up. They will still make plays. Defenses usually defend formations...and react to what the offense runs.

Now look at the offense. Do you really think we run a style of offense that utilizes all the talent we have?

Please refrain from calling others "stupid" when you are not smart enough to realize LSU football is not at the same level it was when Halman was hired.
The people you have called "stupid" have put forth a tremendous effort to elevate the program to one of the premier coaching jobs in America.

We now go to the NFL ranks to find coordinators. A far cry from the Halman days. But yea, we're the stupid ones.
