What's the scoop on this? Was thinking about bringing the fam since it looks to be pretty weather this afternoon. Is it kosher to bring an ice chest with adult beverages? Do you purchase tickets for the berm?

You have to buy tickets....I don't think coolers are allowed though. But it is a great place to watch the game from.

I sat out there, only when the sun is down in the evening. You do have to pay even for access to the berm. There's not a bad seat in the softball park and it's open to where you can walk around the whole area.

Good idea.

Didn't even realize their season has started. This will suffice as I'm jonesing for baseball.

It's awesome. You have to buy tickets and no coolers are not allowed. We usually just bring a blanket to lay down.

Great place to watch the game. Be sure to hang round for the end. The entire team will spring out to the left field pole and line up on the left field fence and sign autographs. Your kids will love it.

Adult beverages? on LSU campus............you must not be LSU. You will enjoy without alcohol.

I remember drinking heavily at the Old Box.

Great times had by many.

Does the baseball team do the autograph thing as well?

You can get baseball autographs before game when they are doing batting practice.

Also, after the game when leaving the clubhouse on the first base side most will sign on their way out. You can usually get most of the team that way.

Great for the kids to roam around and meet other kids.

You lucky bastards lol. Spring time is definitely when I miss it down there the most. Going spend the afternoon at the Box watching the baseball team and now with the softball program being so strong...nice way to pass the time. Very therapeutic lol

Agree, softball is one of the best three live sports on campus. If you have not had a chance to see the speed of the game in person you are really missing out. The girls can flat out play.

It's actually not bad at all. Sat there a couple of times with my kids and enjoyed the heck out of it. Bring blankets (thick ones if possible) and enjoy. You can almost recline and still watch the game. As another poster above mentioned, stick around after the game and the whole team will be by the fence to shake hands and sign autographs.

First class operations! And they're pretty darn good.
