It's not the sport shows host fault for having this opinion right now.

While I don't really care what his opinion is, I don't agree with this. There's a reason he's provocative on LSU: he is contrarian to the prevailing wisdom. Most analysts see LSU as the biggest threat out of the SEC next to Bama. The next minority opinion is that LSU IS the best SEC team. There is a tiny sliver who think LSU is overrated and Sallee is that mouthpiece. It's okay to have an opinion but he needs to logically back it up. Saying it's the same team (that was top 20 last year) and not accounting for the benefit of experience is a bit silly.

Les hasn't changed so why would their opinions of LSU change all of a sudden?

How do you know this? Les has made staff changes, has crushed it in recruiting and even looks reinvigorated. It's fine for fans to say prove it. But when your job is to predict, you don't want to be wrong because you haven't noticed the changes around the program.

LSU has to prove they are contenders in November. I can see why this guy thinks the way he does.

Those three losses were arse whippings though. That's the main concern with those losses.

Every time someone starts a thread about Barret Salles idiotic opinions, it only serves o validate them.

LSU has a better chance to finish fifth in the country than 5th in the West.

It is until Miles is gone or swallows his pride and changes.

Staff changes has happened a lot under Miles and the philosophy hasn't.

He can change all the staff members that he wants to, doesn't mean that the end result will change because of the 1960 Michigan offense he likes to run.

A veteran Brandon Harris is not a QB concern.

Not a concern? None at all?

I hope Harris is improved, but I absolutely do think QB play is a concern this year.

Harris was not as bad last year as the narrative on the rant. He was inconsistent and needs to improve but he was better than people want to think.

Maybe he has seen the same chit show as us the last couple of years and just want to see if Lsu is for real.

I definitely understand where he's coming from.

I'm not drinking the koolaid until I see them punch that ticket to Atlanta.

Why everyone gets all bent out off shape because of what the media is saying?

He said that they are "the same team as last year with an archaic offense".

I know most sunshine pumpers find this hard to believe, but having more NFL talent than any other school may not overcome having Les Miles as HC.

You guys have short memories. In 2013, we had a 3,000 yard passer, two 1,000 yard receivers and a 1,000 yard rusher. It sucks that we timed that offense with our worst defense in a decade.

In 2014, we had no real option at QB. Jennings was the worst QB in history and Harris wasn't ready.

In 2015, Harris was progressing nicely until the Bama game when he suffered a sports hernia. He was not ever the same all season and had surgery to repair it this off-season.

No one likes the lack of a passing game the past two seasons but let's quit with the view that Les has not had successful offensive teams.

Having watched football for 35+ years, I expect this offense to be much more balanced. I expect Harris to be significantly improved. Experience does matter.
