He was poised to make $6/6.5m but wanted to play us against Texas to drive up the bid.

We told him to eff off, he just signed for $5m.

Suck it bitche.

So we saved Texas money they can spend on other aspects of their program? What a triumph for LSU.

In the meantime ... LSU will pay Orgeron what literally no other FBS program would pay him...even if they were interested.

Oh, it's good money but Texas would have gone a lot higher if they had to. By Alleva announcing O they knew LSU was out and they didn't have to bid up.

Yea so now Texas has more money to play with to hire a good DC. Wonder where they'd look to find one of those.

Just goes to show he wanted the UT job more! He and his agent were hoping for a bidding war.

He was not worth 6 million yet anyways.

You honestly think that money is a problem for Texas?
They spend what they want where they want.

Texas has the right attitude. They want to win and DGAF what it costs ... because winning brings $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

I don't give an ish what Texas spends on their program, we've played them like twice in my lifetime.

I'm glad Herman screwed himself out of a couple million a year by being a douche bag.

With his limited head coaching experience he isn't worth 3 million. 5 million is just plain crazy.

He's worth exactly what someone was willing to pay him to the exclusion of others. That is apparently 5 million per year.

To that end, you could argue that O isn't worth 3-4 million. No one except LSU was willing to pay him that. For the second straight coaching hire, Joe bid against himself. His inability to understand the market incredible. No CEO of a muti-million dollar business should be that inept
