so true

Mainieri discusses this with his assistants before hand. They know what's expected. He obviously knows that they could eventually move on to bigger jobs and he asks that they simply let him know when they are talking with other schools. It's a reasonable expectation when it is agreed to beforehand.

I think the bigger issue is the recruit he poached. That also was agreed upon.

Andy is a good coach who decided to be a little bit dishonest at the end to better himself. I don't think that makes him unique or a bad person.

Cohen on the other hand is a piece of shite.

Andy went to Tulane and I'm sure never liked LSU. He just liked the opportunity to coach in the SEC but I'm sure loves the fact he is competing against LSU again.

So I say Freak the Greenie!

Just blows my mind how Mainieri is acting like a teenaged girl over Andy bettering his career. You can't blame him for what I'm hearing getting a MAJOR pay bump. Any of us would have done the same.

Yes, that is the way he is. I know the family of a LSU recruit that went to the minors late in the cycle (like late summer) and CPM blackballed the recruits two brothers and pretty much anyone from the HS program that he played in. CPM told the dad of this recruit it will be a long time, if ever, he recruits another player from that program and the kids brothers need not apply

Is it a secret who you are talking about? It sounds like they wouldn't care.

I wouldn't doubt he feels that way, to one degree or another, in his heart. But if that's true you have to give him some props for doing a pretty damn good job in his short stint at LSU AND feeling that way.

As for Andy not pre-discussing with CPM, it's fairly typical behavior (from both sides actually). Except this has some extenuating circumstances: a recruiting coordinator promoting up to an opponent in the same conf/division and a poached recruit (is it really poaching if the kid did it 100% of his own volition?). Then add Cohen's typical and standard douchery.
