Given Ben Simmons' future and making the assumption that we'll end up in the NIT, should he even play in it? Simple upvote for yes, downvote for no.

You moron. He's a one and done. He's about to quit as in leave the team at the conclusion of the season. He's only at LSU because he has to fill a void before he can go to the NBA.

I'm not implying he's a cancer or a quitter at all.

Given his future draft stock as the potential number 1 pick, I was just contemplating the risk/reward benefit (possible injury for playing in a consolation prize tournament).

Because he's the potential #1 draft pick and it's the NIT - a consolation prize for 32 teams that couldn't crack the top 68. It would make me sick to see him get injured while playing the fricking Evansville Aces in a meaningless tournament.

He obviously is not putting any effort in academically, hence the non-start. In his mind he is already gone. I don't care if they play him or not. Down vote away.

Should he play? Yes, if not injured. It's just a game in an insignificant tournament. Think of it as practice.

could your explain your question because I really don't follow. Is it for punishiment for not giving effort that he should be benched or Is it because you think he doesn't care to play in it and thus shouldn't, is it so the team can just play with the players that will be on next years team in order to use the tournement as a preseason game for next year. I don't follow at all. Is there some precedence for a teams top players to not play in the NIT?

if it's to avoid injury why did he play at all this season and what makes you think he is so injury prone that playing in that tournament in particular will put him at some great risk of injury?
