Perfect LSU season doesn't fill hole in Miles' heart

Some great stuff in there. Which is why i always felt we hired the rt guy. Some of these people cant get out of bed after a loss, yet this guy coached an amazing season with his sister's death looming over him.

These are real people we're talking about. They're not props for us to live vicariously through them. That's why this over the top stuff is so disturbing. Dissatisfied with the direction of the program? Think there should be a change? Fine. Personal attacks on a coach, calling them insane, is so far over the line you can't see it from here.

The fact that Miles has been able to continue to bring in great athletes and coaches to keep the program at such a high level despite his own fanbase selling him out as some sort of retarded imbicil for 10 years, leading the media to treat him like an absolute joke every chance they get, is one of the more amazing feats in coaching history imo.

It's a shame we'll never know how many prospects that characterization cost this team and how high this program could have soared if our fans weren't such bitter spiteful assassins determined to take the man down with their vitriol at the program's expense simply because they wanted Jack Del fricking Rio or a scumbag like Bobby Petrino instead of him and never got over the Madonna headset.

Can anyone fathom a drunken tirade like the one Bobby Hebert unleashed after 1/9 happening in a press conference with ANY OTHER COACH in any sport???

Our fans have made Miles into a figure that is acceptable to be attacked on so many levels it is alarming. The constant smirks and chuckles every time Wacky Les! is mentioned on any type of broadcast is insulting and should draw the outrage of a fanbase that claims to be the best and most feared in CFB.

Instead it's our own coach and players that draw their ire and contempt.

Shameful.

And more importantly, harmful beyond measure to the program.

By and large LSU fans are dicks. I get pissed at Les regularly and scratch my head at some of his decisions but we have watched some exciting football with him as coach. I don't have a problem with legitimate criticism but personal attacks say more about the assholes on this board than they do about Miles or the coaching staff.

Who would downvote this. Jeez, people need to relax.

These posts are not being downvoted because of what was posted, but why it was posted.

Les is a great human being, a class act all around. He is a man of character, and there is no doubt in my mind that he wants nothing but the best for his kids family as well as the kids he coaches at LSU and their families as well. LSU could not ask for better in that regard.

It is disgusting, however, to use the tragedy of Les's sister's death as an excuse to divert attention from Les's shortcomings as a coach.

I'm just pointing out he is human. Sorry you find it disgusting. I think it is disgusting the way our fanbase attacks people. I think he's had mistakes. And I'm not diverting attention. Instead I realize what a great Job he has done at LSU.

I'm sorry Les had to deal with that and I wouldn't wish that on anyone but I'm not sure what it has to do with 1/9 or the current season. He is paid a lot to coach. Hopefully LSU can upset someone and gain momentum because the season is over.

Make it stop please. Most of us who have been around a while know that life can suck, tragedies do happen and life goes on. Most of us don't make millions to coach 12-13 games a year, recruit.hard for a month or two, and pretty much coast the rest of the time.

Miles brings the silliness on himself almost every time he tries to speak, and I think he enjoys it. How a guy like him got as far as he did is a mystery to many, including those in his coaching fraternity.

And why do people say he's such a wonderful guy? Truth is he wanted to go to Michigan, thought he had the job before Lloyd Carr said hell no. He and his agent undoubtedly concocted the Arkansas story to get the contract he wanted to finish out his career. What he really cares about is a buck, like most of them.

all the positive people will get a down vote here (including me), but LSU fans always bad mouthing Miles and the players are some of the exact reasons why we lose some highly ranked in state talent. Young kids that hear shite like that for years, turns kids sour to LSU. Then LSU has an uphill battle even with their in state recruits.

You make a good point. That is not to say CLM is or should be above criticism for poor choices or bad coaching. But the degree of vitriol and character assassination found in the Rant and now elsewhere is wrong spirited, undeserved, and unacceptable. We can all be better than that, and do better. I for one will try, even when I am unhappy with the coach(ing).

I grew up thinking lsu fans were great. I grew up and realized I loved the school, loved the football team but really couldn't believe how terrible and trashy most of the fan base actually was.
I wish I had the little kid feeling about lsu again but these awful fans in the fanbase have ruined it for me.

We all have deaths in our family and bad things happen to us and circumstances that are not in our favor. Life is not a soap opera.
