Why can't our staff try to recruit Shea Patterson again and give his brother a job. I wonder what went wrong and who dropped the ball with one. Shea was coming to LSU and brother was already there and boom, Ole Miss offers the brother a job on staff. How can we lose afford to lose a prospect like this and why can't we try to recruit Qb's like him and Matt Flynn.

I think Shea Patterson is going be decent in Ole Miss' offense but will be just that - decent.

He would not be great in our offense or many others. I think he is incredibly overrated.

But that's just me...

The hire his brother to get the recruit strategy is slimey as frick

You just answered your own question.

Shea is from TX and played his senior year in FL. He had no connection to LSU other than his brother.

Matt Flynn wasn't that good. But I'm guessing you just want a white qb

Because, sometimes the product and results on the field impact recruiting. Why would any QB worth their salt play for Les Miles?

He was paid, but very low on the totem poll (he was essentially an offensive intern).

He basically got graduate assistant money.

Shea was never coming here. Again he had zero ties to Louisiana!

I know he transferred from Calvary. I think he went to IMG or what ever it is called but not 100% sure. What kind of year did he have? Just curious.

Watched this kid in state championship last year as well as quite a bit of video. I think he will develop into a caliber of QB similar to Drew Brees. Don't like the way his recruiting went--with his brother's job being a factor--but Patterson is undeniably a player, polished and undeniable potential in college and the level beyond, imo.

Hyperbole much?

I think he's Aaron Murray from Georgia. He's an undersized QB that has a great feel for the game and is a better athlete than you would think. He will come in ready to play as a freshman, but has come close to his ceiling. He'll be the same player in 3 years as he is today.

I think the Brock Berlin comparison is very valid though. He played for a high school powerhouse that showcased his abilities and overwhelmed opponents. This inflates his value to some I think.
