Some good hires but not at the top of the list right now I think would be Miami's Mark D'onofrio.. Miami finished 14th in total defense and 18th in passing defense.. But I don't know if he could recruit in the south being that he is from New Jersey... Another is Vance Bedford DC at Texas right now... Give him a pay raise and he comes and recruits right away. Any other darkhorse Candidates would Yall like to see at DC for LSU?? I personally want CP and Coach O! Geaux Tigers

I agree. I only want CP and coach O, but who knows what Miles/Alleva will do. One can only hope and pray that they get both and are already on the recruiting trail wearing LSU shirts!!!

Yeah that's what I was thinking that there was very little chance.

Dorito is a stellar defensive coordinator.

You think your DL was good all of these years? He'll have your front four more aggressive than you ever have seen in your life.

Would be about as bad as hiring Stoops.

There is not a snowballs chance in hell that I would ever consider Mark Hellnahfrio for the DC here. My bestfriend is a Miami insider and they are waiting for him to get fired. He had his play calling duties stripped during the season. So if you really want the the defense to go downhill fast go ahead bring Duh (the players call him that) in. I will tell you this if LM brings him as DC it signifies that he has just given up and there is no hope.

Your friend knows nothing about Miami football. Mark Dorito is one of the finest defensive minds in college football. I would hate to lose him.

If you say so. I was at the VT and UVA game. At the VT tailgate one the starters on defense parents told the group that AL had stripped him of his play calling. I know this much since He has taken over all the U does is play zone. Did you even watch the bowl and listen to Andre Ware ask why Miami was in a soft zone when they have the horses to play man?

LSUfnStuk,

I was at both of those games and the bowl game. So no, I didn't hear what Ware said on TV. Nor do I really care.

You can't argue with taking a defense ranked in the 90s to a top 15 unit. Stats are stats, and Miami had one of the best defenses it has had in years.

What is wrong with zone coverage btw? You do realize that Miami runs the same scheme NFL teams run right? Bama runs our scheme. The days of playing solely man are over (looks like LSU hasn't caught on). That's the old way. Dorito has made Miami multiple; that is why he confuses the hell out of defenses compared to the days where Miami lined up in man cover 2 every snap.

I'd much rather play it safe and drop my DE into a zone instead of manning up and getting burnt for a big TD. I'd much rather cover a slot receiver with a LB than go nickel or dime package. This isn't NCAA or Madden.
