Season expectations were met with the first pitch in Omaha!! Expectations of the athletic director are to be in the hunt for championships, not winning them. One win, two wins, the NC, is just gravy. Disappointments don't happen in LSU sports as long as you are in the hunt at anytime during the season. The golf team exceeded expectations. Any NC in LSU athletics is "exceeding expectations". So regardless of if CPM, CLM, or any other coach ever win another NC, they are doing their job successfully with a "close but no cigar" record. The word disappointment can't occur cause being "in the hunt" means different things to different people. Two blowout losses in Omaha are not a disappointment based on set expectations.

Do you believe people will settle down after reading your b/s? Of course expectations are to WIN a NC-not just pLay in it. Ask Bregman if just playing in it is satisfaction enough?

Go back and read the comments from Mr. Alleva when CLM was given his last extension and raise. He stated "it's not all about winning championships but being in the hunt that matters", or something very close to that effect. All my comments in the OP were in reference to how the AD views success. Some fans share it, some do not. BUT, that is the bar for all programs at LSU like it or not!!

Winning the title might be exceeding expectations but what do you call completely shitting the bed in a huge moment? Is that meeting expectations?

According to Mr. Allevas comments, yes. Being in Omaha puts you in the "Hunt for a Championship" does it not?

Since when does "being in the hunt" = meeting expectations?

Once you get there, the expectations change from just being happy you're there to wanting to win it.
