SHSU could play at Baylor and we could host Northwestern St. It seems to make sense to me. On that same weekend Mcneese plays at Nebraska. I know it really doesn't matter as far as a win goes, but it seems to me more butts would be in the stands with Louisiana schools. Most of them are fans of LSU as well. With our stadium expansion it seems to make more business sense too.

Why on earth would you want to do that? And I seriously doubt it would have much effect on the bottom line either way.

Keep the cash in state and help a smaller in state school.

Kind of a moot point given they're scheduled to play a 1A school already. LSU sends money to a Texas school, Baylor sends money to a Louisiana school.

Kids at Sam Houston get to play a game in Tiger Stadium, kids at Northwestern St get to play Baylor. Everyone wins.

Playing Sam Houston State keeps LSU on the radar and TV screens in the Houston metro area.

SHSU is actually a very strong program in their division. While I agree that an LA team would have a broader appeal to the casual fan , I feel that playing SHSU could be a much better game.

- Better program (2 trips to title game in last 3 years)
- Houston market
- Fans travel well and will for this one (fans showed well at regional last year)

It'll probably be a blood bath. They're replacing their head coach, and 3 year starters at QB and RB. Unfortunately, I don't think this Sam team is on the level of their two runner up teams or last years.

But the new head coach is a good one so we'll see what happens.

Fact is, people complain when LSU schedules out of state schools. But if they had scheduled a Northwestern State, people would be complaining that it wasn't LaTech, ULL or Tulane.

And games like this make them choose a side. Plus if the score gets out of hand, it creates hard feelings and resentment for all of LSU's "privilege" over the other state schools.

Let ULL, Latech, NW St get beat up elsewhere for a payday; and host nameless rent-a-wins from out-of-state. Everyone wins.
