Against a vaunted Tennessee defense?

Oh yeah, we all do. I'll never forget watching that game thinking, "wow, Tennessee cannot stop a second string QB from running the same basic play, over and over and over again in a game that means so much. Their DC must not be too bright".

How this nightmare has come full circle.

It is as if Chavis watches no game film. None. Frick, the back up QB for the Community College we beat last week did it.

Why can't we stop this simple play? We leave the middle of the field wide open and just let it happen.

A lot of us here are banking on LSU possibly beating Kentucky. Anyone see the Kentucky game last night? Yeah, they came back from 14 down by simply running the Wildcat right up USCe's D.

Just wait until they come to BR. That play will be open all night long. Hell, JoJo what's his name will have 350 yards rushing because we cannot stop this simple, HS offense.

Brutal. Just brutal.

It makes no sense to not have someone in the middle of the field against Nick Marshall

but that's part of the problem...

It hasn't just been Nick Marshall. It is everyone we play, including NMSU.

I really and truly think our coaches on both sides of the ball watch no film at all. I know I'm wrong, but I just can't make sense of it.

Shameless bump.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this basic problem, or is this a "Chavis" thing?

I don't know what it is, but it sure as hell not helping. Once our DTs are thrown out the way, it's TD for the QB b/c the backers are out of position.

Hell, the LBs aren't even lined up there. It is obvious. AU converted, what, three key third and 7+ with that simple play?

Problem is it's not like these teams don't run the same formations...we've seen all these formations before, but still can't line up correctly?

It doesn't help that the MLB is noticeably slow and was outrun on numerous plays. The speed differential between him and many of the opponents running at him is obvious. Even if the MLB is in place, the runner just veers off and blows by. Marshall did this a few times.
