SEC SEC SEC. 6-2 in the bowl season is an awesome feat and these victories help produce a stronger LSU in so many ways. This chant is very important to branding the kind of football played in the south. If anyone understands the branding concept, you would know that perception and image is key to reap benefits. Benefits such as getting recruits to sign up with the SEC and not other conferences and it is reassuring when you hear these recruits telling the media "I chose LSU, Alabama, etc to play in the SEC", or getting our teams into the BCS bowls or next year into the playoffs, or getting better television ratings which produce cash flow because the nation wants to watch or sharing the pot of BIG money that the BCS bowls produce and the list goes on. If LSU was an independent, we would not be in same position that we are in presently - Nick Saban and Les Miles would not have been our coaches, many recruits would have gone to other schools to belong to an elite conference, our financial woes would have been multipied. Example - when Tulane decided to leave the SEC- their program never recovered. Notre Dame -who can possibly be the only school to survive on its own because of its national recognition, has been seeking the right conference for years because it realizes that it cannot survive alone. The SEC chant boost our regional significance. in numbers, there is strength. Without the SEC, LSU would not be the athletic power that it is today. I hope this chant continues to build up the brand SEC and not get lost because of some fans who have no vision of the big picture. By the way, chanting SEC SEC SEC does not mean that you are pulling for that team as much as it means that you are pulling for the toughest conference in the country. If you can win in the SEC, you can win everywhere. SEC SEC SEC.

Here is another reason to pull for the SEC-

I've been saying this all along. it's the reason why 2-loss sec teams even get a shot at the n.c.g.

it's the branding.

Especially when you consider two of these teams had their starting QBs go down to a torn ACL and the bowls were played entirely by their backups.

Which is why adding Texas AM and even Missouri was not a good thing in the long run for LSU.

No more SEC expansion.

UGA lost with a backup that played Well.
LSU won with a backup that played Poorly.

So What's the point ???

I assume he's saying it's impressive that two teams with backup QBs won. Are you looking for some deeper meaning here on the Rant?

This is stupid. Only losers want to play in a weak conference. Top recruits want to play in the top conference.

So now, conference pride gives in state recruits an A&M and Bama option.

Great.

Hope they all lose.

Yeah, let's dominate a conference where no other team wins shite. That will mean a lot. Chanting SEC does not mean you're a Bama fan, or a Florida fan, you moron. It's simply giving respect to the toughest conference in the country.
