I took my nephew to Junior day yesterday. Caught the scrimmage. Run game looked really good. Williams ran very well. 30 yard run, followed by a 10 yd TD. After that, Brossette and others took most of the snaps. Brossette had at least one run for 20+ yds.

Lot of spread and motion (as promised). DLine played solid, but I was more surprised at how the Oline appeared to have a clear advantage in the 1st couple of drives. Cushenberry looked solid at center.

I didn't see any drops by the 1st or 2nd string WRS, though I must admit, almost every pass thrown was well contested by 1St and 2ND team DBs.

Didn't focus much on LBs.

Did not notice (at least from an outside perspective) many obvious offensive miscues.
Overall I like what I saw at this early juncture.

Oh yeh, massive number of recruits in attendance.

Pretty solid.
Etling played well. The run game was really clicking while he was on the field. Made good decisions (looked comfortable), though he did throw one INT, and one other nearly picked.

Mcmillan looked solid in the short passing game. Looked very athletic.

Same with Scott. Took off on a roll out, and bolted up field. Play blown dead cause QBs were not really live. Hit Davis in stride on the most explosive play of the scrimmage. Oh yeh, Davis can RUN!

Narcisse showed a lot of promise. Really live arm. Delivered a couple of strikes from the gun.

Looks like we are really building depth at the position.

One other note. Based upon rep count (and as expected), the starting spot seems to be decided. It is difficult to tell how open the the 2 spot really is.

Paris looked solid. Though I think there is a chance that one of the younger guys could really make a push.

3 & 4 wr sets. Sometimes 2. Always single back with lots of shifts and motions. Davis, Clark. Good rotation of Sullivan, Anderson, Guage, and Dillon. These guys were in an our with ones and twos.

Didn't zero in on them individually necessarily other than NT. Gilmore the alexander were both solid. Again as a unit they were solid, accept for the first two drives, where Williams seemed to have his way.

I appreciate it. I was wondering why there was no news on it coming out yesterday from any media source.

This is major for 3 reasons:

1. That means the OL has already found a good chemistry in the new offense.

2. The play calling is tailored to the OL's capabilities. Canada's not just calling plays and hoping it works.

3. The defense still hasn't figured out an offense that they see day in and day out. Usually the defense has the advantage because of the familiarity with the offense.

This bodes very well for us.
