Schiambra's situation

Why did Schiambra lose his staring job? Anybody know? He was having a good year and I didn't hear anything about an injury.

He added letters to his name and everyone forgot who he was so he got benched.

Honestly, I think he's on the same level as McMullen and Stevenson. PM can put any of the 3 in the starting position and get the same amount of production out of them.

I understand he is hometown favorite and a decent player. The way he is talked about you would swear he puts up numbers like Mahtook. Over 2 years he is a mid 200's hitter. Defensively he is good. He isn't a better hitter than Laird or Rymes to date. He hasn't done enough to outright win a position IMO. Maybe he can make an argument for more playing time but he hasn't really shown himself to be head and shoulders above the rest of the outfielders.

PM has to make tough decisions to put his team in the best position to win; many of his favorite players spent lots of time on the bench during his time here: Nick Pontiff, Dozar, Buzzy, Leon, etc. It sucks for CS because he was starting to get hot when he was injured last year.
I am trying to think of players who lost their spots only to reclaim them the next year. maybe Hanover?? ochinko from catcher to 1st? Attitude means a lot to Mainieri so he needs to work hard and hang tough. I feel for the kid.
