ELO CHESS is what the BCS uses and USC is not #1 in that poll. UF number 10, though? I guess their opponents aren't doing so well. Big surprise.

He has a flaw in his system that ranks the Pac10 above every other conference every year because they all play each other. His ratings are overly skewed towards his topped ranked conference, which in turn is skewed based on the PAC10 schedule rule. Luckily the elochess is important and not his ratings and predictor.

There should a category to take away points when you lose to a team that is unranked (USC). Also note the Longhorns schedule is easier than ours to this point, yet if you go to their board (hornfans.com) there is always a thread about how easy our schedule is, how we are the luckiest team in the country, and that LSU being #4 is a joke.
