Looking at Sagarins rankings, I'm a little confused. He has Okie State 6-0 vs the top 30, and LSU 2-0 vs the top 30. What is he using to determine this? We have played 6 opponents that were ranked when we played them. Okie St has only played 3 teams that were ranked when they played them. If he is going by which teams are ranked now, I only count 2 teams for both....what am I missing here?

Here are the Sagarin Ratings

He uses his own rankings; not ELO, but the one's that appear on the left.

OSU's schedule apparently:

9 A&M, 10 KState, 11 Missouri, 13 Texas, 20 Baylor, 27 Tulsa

WOW, he is using his own ratings, guessed I missed that, can't believe he has Texas A&M (5-5) at #9 and Missouri (5-5) at #11.

I guess I have learned my lesson, his poll is worthless.

I've always felt the Sagarin ratings are retarded and shouldn't be included in the BCS. Look where he has 5 - 5 Mizzou for f's sake

It seems like his "formula" includes "circular references" which can generate a higher ranking for a team.

Missouri is a good example. They are 5-5, and are ranked 11th with the best strength of schedule. I just don't see this as possible unless each game/team builds upon itself..

I pretty much ignore his rankings as well. Used to put alot of merit into it since I am a "Statistics" junkie engineer, but once i looked into it, it is worthless.

eta.. North Dakota St. is ranked 54th. Does anyone REALLY think they are better than Purdue, Wake Forest, UVA who are a couple of teams they are ranked ahead of? For reference WKU is ranked 114.

yeah, that's stupid, looks like his rankings kind of feed on themselves, that's no good.
