For 11 years we can honestly state we were thoroughly entertained by coach Les Miles. Coaches coach college football games for our entertainment, and nobody did it better and with more class than Les Miles. I love and respect Miles for that. But I'm also very angry with Les at the moment for being forced into this situation, having to move on to another coach.

I certainly did not want this, I would have much preferred that we retain America's most entertaining coach, and that our coach had gathered his senses about the changes needed to remain competitive and not remain so damn stubborn. The thought of losing Les Miles really pissses me off, saddens me, angers me, bet many fans are still anguishing over having to let him go. I want to say damn you coach Miles, but you're just too damn good of a human being for me to hold that against you. From one Tiger fan to another, Wish you the best.

All of us are so sorry that you have been devastated by this situation. All of the angst that you have been put through is unacceptable.

He's had it rough, Gray. Cut him some slack. It's been devastating for many of these guys to turn on Les and welcome Jimbo back to Baton Rouge.

Agreed really appreciated Miles while he was doing his job and not thinking he knew more about offense than the rest of his peers. Now he has put LSU in a risky situation by letting his program slide. It is unacceptable to lose ground to all these other schools. I just hope it's not to late to reverse the damage.

To say that Les Miles "forced" LSU to do this is ludicrous. Delusional fan expectations is probably more accurate but nobody wants to take responsibility for the consequences of that.

If he were a better coach and actually adapted and made in-season adjustments, he wouldn't have put himself and you in the situation.

Tough enough to to take it doesn't imply we have to like it. There will never be another Elvis, another Micheal Jackson, another John Denver, another Bob Hope to entertain us or another Les Miles at LSU.

No more dumbasses at LSU. Thank God.

Are you saying he knew of a better way and simply chose not to do that, or that he did the best he could and people should be mad at that?

Miles wasn't a dumbass, but we can all learn from Miles' mistakes. I thank God for that.

I think this pretty much sums up how I feel about Miles.

First half of his stay here:
Loved him as a person.
Loved him as a coach.

The last half of his stay here:
Loved him even more as a person.
Hated his coaching/game plans.

Simply put, Les Miles underachieved 7 out of the last 8 seasons he coached here relative the talent LSU has in the NFL! He averaged 3.25 losses since 2008 with most NFL talent to produce wins with, went 13-10 in the SEC since 2013, and the most telling fact/stat is that he went to .462 against the SEC west since 2012! He underachieved and deserves to be fired!

Uh you should be mad at the dumbass board member that put us in this situation. Not Miles.

YOURE stupid. From 2009-2013 4 programs won at least 9 games every year and lsu was one of them. So stop acting like teams are winning 10 games a year and lsu is in the gutter.

Yes it has been, character matters. And Miles had tons of it. Feelings would be the same for any similar employee we were forced to let go. Hopefully we're teaching you something in the process.

Football is a dynamic game. Les Miles is a static coach. The game evolves as new schemes appear to counteract previous schemes. He simply hasn't changed with the times, and he refuses to change with the times. That lack of ability and/or desire to evolve (while staying true to his identity) has been his undoing. It's not about unrealistic expectations (at least not with this Tiger). I don't expect championships on a regular basis. However, I do expect a coach to adjust when something is so clearly awry with his program. I've supported the guy for years now, even as he first stepped into the job. I'm finally ready for a change.

like i've been saying since forever now....

great man
good recruiter
terrible coach

unfortunately, we pay him to be a great coach, above all else.... i admit, this situation would be much easier to handle for a majority of the fanbase if Miles was a douche, but he's not... he's a genuine, stand up guy... however, you gotta produce in November and December in the SEC, and well, the numbers speak for themselves... he's not been getting it done...
