Daniels was drafted by Saban while he was at Miami. Daniels lasted 8 years in the NFL
LINK
Not a bad career.

I don't know...did you see him all up in that kid's shite after a block in the back penalty on a punt return? It almost seemed personal.

Do you mean flaws as a coach or flaws as a person? Most who have met Miles tell me he is a very decent guy. I met Saban back when he was first named LSU's coach at a private party. His wife was extremely nice, he's not.

He's not paid to be nice....he is a molder of a football team that wins. He turns 17/18 year old boys into men who will function in society as down-to-earth gentlemen, husbands/fathers, contributors to society. Not just the NFL/CFL

It was horrible. It's a direct result of the players not being afraid of the consequences.

Ehh, you had 3 freshmen and a freshman te playing at times. It happens.

Besides, LSU is always highly penalized, Nick Sabans teams were at LSU.

This isn't a 1 year outlier.

That happened a year after the NC so in the "won the NC grace period". 2015 is clearly outside that zone.

Just to clarify: If Miles' players last 4 years in the NFL is it thanks to him?... or does this only apply to Saban?

Miles gets certainly gets credit for every player he recruits getting to the NFL. He also gets criticism for having all that talent on the field and getting subpar results the last 4 years.

I was more referring to Saban being the defacto DB coach on the team though and being hands on with Daniels.

Also I was at that game in 04. It sucked arse. Horrific nosebleed up the third deck too.

This is a sign of a man being passionate about his work. Saban is all business on the field. I went to the Nick Saban Football Camps when Saban first got to Baton Rouge, and he would yell and chew arse even to young kids at the camp for loafing through the drills or not doing them right. One quote from him that I will always remember is "Listen to what I'm saying, not how I say it"....Listen to the message and don't concentrate so much on the delivery or take it personal. Saban didn't get to where he is today by pussifying the delivery of his message to his players. The man knows what he's doing and he's very good at it.

LSU is top 17 in wins the past 4 yrs among Power 5 teams and top 3 in wins in the SEC in that same time period.

As bad an arse whooping as we had since Florida '96 and would be the worst until Florida '08. That game -- everything just went wrong.

Don't remember this in the 04 game, but I guess it could have happened.

In the 03 game in Tiger Stadium, there was a third down where Daniels didn't wrap up and let the receiver get the first down. Saban went on the field and chewed Daniels a new one. On the next series of downs, UGA ran the same play on third down, and this time Daniels made the tackle to keep them short. Saban went on the field and congratulated him.

He's animated. It's his style, probably from growing up as a defensive back.

Miles is less animated. It's his style, probably from growing up as an offensive lineman.

Both styles have been really successful. (Ducks from the debris thrown by the Miles haters.)

i was just telling a friend about this the other day. saban was so pumped that he made the play. one of the best reactions i've ever seen a HC make on the sideline.

is he a bit over the top? sure.

but he's right there to congratulate his players for doing what he tirelessly preaches to them.

I remember him being in Daniels face and he physically removed him from the game. A series or two later he ran onto the field when Daniels fired up the band on a nice play. I'll never forget Marquis Maze pointing to the wire when Brad Wing burned him. Saban lost it. Fun watching him get pissed. Wish we were the reason for his outbursts more often.
