This is what Saban makes his living doing.

How does LSU counter if the run is unsuccessful?

This is why I believe Harris will be called upon. I can see him taking between 10-20 snaps on Saturday. The QB has to use his feet to extend plays running and passing to beat Bama. That is the recipe to defeat Bama and I worry about Jennings being able to do this. I've said all year we needed Jennings to win when everyone was jumping on Harris bandwagon. Now, I see this as LSU really needing some help out of Harris.

Nothing against Harris, he's a great kid and a super player but remember, he's a true freshman.

If Harris plays, it more than likely means that nothing is working. I just don't see that happening.

Again, I'm not dumping on Harris at all, I like the kid a lot.

Harris is necessary to make the game plan a little unpredictable, otherwise, it would be very tough. Also, Harris can run.

Don't know about that. It can be unpredictable without Harris playing.

How does Alabama counter if the run is successful?

I know but he won't. I just think if Harris is in the game the running game will be more effective.

If Harris sees the field, it will mean LSU is in trouble

I felt the same .. Saban lives to terrorize Qbs that lack some skills ..lsu has the throw the ball to win. . Lsu wont win running just the ball .. I wish but it ain't going. To happen

The only pre-requisite for being a Les Miles QB recruit. Gotta Run. Gotta Run. Gotta Run.

Depends on how long we wait?

I'm not convinced Harris doesn't have a role this week.

Very doubtful. I don't mean that as a knock against Harris at all. I like his potential as a QB, but he hasn't gotten significant snaps in the past 3 games, so I really doubt the coaches are going to decide to put him in there against Alabama. If he had gotten significant playing time in any of the last 3 games, then I could see it, but as of now, I don't think it's in the works.

If a change of pace wasn't introduced on 1/9/12 then it's not going to happen this weekend either. If there was ever a need to make a change mid game to try and generate something positive it was on that night and it didn't happen. It was literally the definition of having nothing to lose by middle of the 3rd quarter and well we never crossed the 50 yard line.

Les has chosen his QB for the remainder of this season evidenced by the amount of meaningful snaps BH has received in the last 3 games. Les has a ride or die mentality once he has made up his mind. So from here on out if the game is in doubt it's AJ taking the snaps.

Next spring and fall you'll hear that the QB competition is open but you'll see the same thing next year and the year after. This exact scenario has already played out before under Les.

I too would like to see some added dimension but not at the cost of us being unable to move the ball on the ground. That would not be a good situation for any qb.

The difference in Harris and AJ running is Harris will think to run sooner than AJ

AJ takes too much time to make a decision- we have to get him out of the JJ mode

That being said It was evident that BH was not ready for prime time.

I do think we have to find a way to get him in the game and make him part of the plan.

So can I. Jennings can't do it anywhere near as good as Harris, and that is the point of saying that ability would make it less predictable.

Did any of you stop and think that maybe it would be a little easier for BH to enter a HOME game in relief than starting on the ROAD against a top 3 team?

I also agree with the posters that pointed out Les riding his mule into the ground when there's a fresh horse to ride on the sideline. Jennings' limitations will hold us back, just as JJ's did for years. I hope they did the run full speed into the mattress drills all week for our RB's cause that's all we're gonna do. The midget has to be gleeful knowing how little defensive game planning he had to do prepping for our offensive offense.

I think he will be situational ala Russell Sheppard or early days of Perrilloux.
