Could he have succeeded at LSU playing QB? Who knows. He certainly could have had success somewhere in college as a dual-threat QB.
you sound as retarded as a gump. You know shep was given a chance at QB when he got to LSU. and from all the sources i have talked to say, he could throw the larger size college ball like he could the high school ball. hell i looked back at his HS tape and he threw very wobbly passes.

Which part is wrong?

No one can dispute that RS wasn't a natural wide receiver.

No one can dispute that our QB play was mediocre.

So is the dispute about "mediocre coaches"? Who were the WR coaches during Shep's time here? Were they better than mediocre? Did our other WRs over-perform due to the coaching they received?

Can he play QB in the NFL? Probably not, but that never should have been a reason not to play him at QB at LSU

Shep and this boneheaded move

While both were extremely stupid for saying what they did. Sam didn't put his future organization at risk, only to try and make himself look more important. What Sam said was dumb/honest while Russel is delusional/dishonest

you can not assume Shep was better than the players we had out on the field. you sound like a dumbass.

hell i take it back you can dispute that if he was such the athlete he is he could have made a smooth transition to WR. hell look at every super star at LSU. most were the QB in high school.

Bull shite. Our fanbase turn on the players and coaches. Saban wasnt loved until 03. He was hated even more goung to bama, now hes loved again.

Besides, if RS makes it in the NFL as a WR. Then Les did his job. Doesnt matter if he catches 1 pass or hundreds. Hes not plating qb for any team. If he does then chip will be back in college after 1 season.

I didn't say he was better than what was on the field. I said he was a QB. He should have been a backup QB at LSU if he wasn't better than the starters. He really should have been a starting QB at a lesser school if Les was never going to play him at QB here.

I specifically said Shep isn't in the Early Doucet/Percy Harvin mode of great athlete.

You just disappointed CptBengal. He was depending on Shep's production as an undrafted free agent to make or break a college program.

if I'm not mistaken he asked to be moved to receiver. He was given multiple snaps at QB his early in his freshman year and didn't perform well.

that's kinda his fault...he was given the chance to play QB at LSU

You talking about in practice?
He did well running the ball from the QB position in games his freshman year. Or was he always at RB?

it's kind of his fault and very much Les's fault for making him think he would play him at QB. No, I don't believe Les ever really considered Shep a candidate for starting QB at LSU when he recruited him.

So now it is lsu's fault for recruiting one of the highest rated players in the country?

I'm trying to decide which is worse. Shep and this boneheaded move or Montgomery with his tard interviews.

Shep by a ton. Sam still got drafted in a good spot. Shep might've killed his one shot as an undrafted player. Maybe he'll think next time he's trying to pump himself up.
