Russell Gage seemed to burst on the scene and get significantly more playing time once Les Miles was fired and Coach O became the interim coach. Did Les not see his talent and not use him properly? He has quickly become one of my favorite players.

He’s been a practice squad phenom since he’s arrived here . O gave him his shot and he’s capitalizing .

Just don't hit him in the facemask with the ball.

He's a leader and is a positive influence on the team. I think Dillon is a better player in pretty much every aspect with the exception of Special teams. But, Gage has more of an impact due to the intangible things he brings to the table.

Was he injured in the game? Can’t recall which receiver it was?

He's been a bit inconsistent as a WR and I would assume the coaches may have seen that in practice. Plus, there were more physically talented WRs on previous year's teams...teams which largely underutilized WR's in the first place.

However, from all accounts he's always been a hard worker. When O took the job last season the insertion of Gage into the lineup was probably done as more of an example to the other players. This season he has just performed wherever they have asked him to. You could argue he's the teams' #2 WR, yet he's out there busting his arse and making plays on special teams as well. He's probably a guy the coaching staff wants their more physically gifted players to emulate

The life of many on the Rant.

Wake up, pour a cup of joe, get on the rant, stare at the screen and ponder ways to still blame shite on Les Miles even though it has been a year.

Move on people!

love seeing him hurdle defenders. very cool.

Can he line up as a running back and just hurdle the line of scrimmage?

I saw Dee Anderson was getting more PT in the last game over Gage. But with Dee's latest tweet I'm sure he messed his opportunity up again

I just enjoy watching him jump over people with ease. He didn't fit the mold of the type of receiver that Miles played a lot. Love to having him on the team.

It looks like a few of the guys that were late signing days pickups have been doing great for us. Gage was a guy that we signed after we missed on a player or two and is killing it on the field. Cushenberry looks to be our center for the next two years after being picked up in the same situation. Before signing day I never heard his name being associated with LSU. Glad we got both of those guys.

I like Gage, and he competes hard. However, he drops too many passes, does not have elite speed, and is not a difference maker player like 7, 14, 11, 10 and Dillon. Great kid, and yes, Les, did not give him the shot that O has.
