Finally a lot of that can be fixed. Mental mistakes. I'm liking a lot of things about the offense right Now. I was like a stranded guy that's been in the desert and found water

Agree...seems nothing went right but mostly fixable.

Does not fit the narrative of...

"We took the foot off the gas...

We went conservative....

Don't have a killer instinct...."

Everyone keeps on talking about "being fixable." WTF?? Come on guys, LM is getting paid 4+M. These "fixable" mistakes year after year are fricking bullshite. There is no discipline whatsoever. Saban can be up 40pts and his team makes a mistake, he goes ballistic. That is discipline. Thats why they continue to be ranked #1. I am no Bama lover, but I can see with my own eyes the difference in coaching. Pure discipline. Thats why they can be down so much to Ole Miss and still manage to come back and win. That is coaching! That is why they will continue to be ranked #1. LSU might not even move any spots with that shitty win.

Yes it was a win, but unlike the NFL, NCAA you need style points to get the voters to move you up to a position to be in the playoffs. Putting up 23 pts against a vastly inferior team is not going to cut it. Go look at all the games played yesterday. LSU was one of the lowest scoring games of the week. Just awful with our so called depth and talent.

Everyone keeps saying, "yeah, look at the points Ole Miss put up on Bama. Bama is beatable and LSU is the team to do it." Are you freaking kidding me? LM will never have Sabans number again. Saban owns LM mentally and physically. Not to mention the fact that Ole Miss will play us just as hard as Bama. We have way more teams to worry about than that 1 Bama game everyone likes to fantasize about every year.

99% of the time Fournette breaks out of the spin with ball and scores a 40 yard TD.

This was a great drive and Etling had some great passes and check downs that kept the drive moving. If Fournette doesn't fumble it likely ends up being a 9 minute touchdown drive, that breaks State's back.

Not a good start

We were moving the ball. Play calling not an issue

quote:

3rd poss./3rd and 5 - 19 yd. comp. called back for holding/Etling 8 yd. run/punt

BEAUTIFUL 3rd down conversion takes a dump primarily due to an injury putting Pocic on the edge

4th poss./13 plays - 65 yds./fumble

Moving the ball. Doing exactly what you'd want to at this point in the game.

quote:

5th poss./nothing worked/run +2/DJ Clark -4/ incomplete pass/punt

A retarded drive. The reverse hurt my brain.

So your definition of discipline is "saban going ballistic" on the sideline?

SEC champ doesn't need style points. Win the SEC with no more than one loss and you're in. Simple as that.

last night was an example of players being complacent with a big lead. not singling anyone out, and it wasn't everyone, but collectively.

Good point. LF was complacent and just didn't try to hold on to that ball. Miles needs to scream at him during the game to make him realize how important style points mean to the fans.

starting field position on all these possessions would be good to add.

Yep, we were pinned near our goal line a bunch in the 2nd.

I do remember Etling slinging it from deep in our end zone, though...

Need to also plug in where we started . Field position was bad all 2nd half. Interestingly the play calling was pretty reasonable based on field position.

But your point is very good information and well taken. Penalties and fumbles were the problem and I believe from players we wouldn't expect it to happen again. When you get the big lead the focus has to sharpen

Him doing that last week seemed to really make a difference in them not coming out flat against Ole Miss this week...oh, wait

Losing self control on the sidelines and screaming like a two year old is your definition of discipline?

Good point. Can't keep making the same mistakes over and over.
