Ego and AJ may not even make teams,

The NFL will always have a need for big bodies up front. AJ had probably his best game as a Tiger this past Wednesday. He showed he has the potential and tools, but underperformed horribly for some reason.

the only 1st round draft talent is OBJ, JL and Jeremy Hill.

And I doubt any of them go in the first round, unless the Saints pick OBJ and Landry with their 1 and 2 pick

Chance Warmack, roughly the same size as Trai. #10 overall pick in the last draft. obviously Trai doesn't have the hype, experience, or accolades, but I could see him looking at Warmack and thinking he's somewhat comparable.

Chance Warmack did not leave school after only 2 seasons of playing time.

Isn't Boutte next up in that spot? We'll be OK.

Been hearing about this for a while.

Wouldn't shock me to see another late round OLineman declare for the draft as well.

Trai has bad knees, which is why he's leaving.

Talked to his dad at the game, didn't get a good vibe when I asked him if Trai was coming back.

Additionally, wouldn't shock me to see Rasco leave early as well, as others have said in this thread.

Rasco leaving and whiffing on Willis means we're essentially fricked. Especially if our boy stays in Oklahoma.

frick it. If you're a junior just fricking leave!

Tashawn Bower, Lewis Neal, Kendell Beckwith, Michael Patterson.

Defensive line is one of the toughest transitions to make from high school to college. These kids weren't ready this year (although, I believe Beckwith was).

It's really quite simple on his part.

He wants to play football, academics will always be there for him if that falls through.

If he makes a team, it is worth it. He gets to focus on football 24/7, and gets top of the line coaching.

Plus, he has bad knees, which was the key factor in his decision making.

I think CFB and the NFL are in a transition period brought on by the new CBA. With the new pay scales in place, it has given CFB players more to think about when it comes to their future careers and when is the best time to end their CFB careers.

One thing that HASN'T changed is the number of open spots available in the NFL on a yearly basis. What also hasn't changed is the number of CFB players who are good enough to fill those spots. I think we are going to have a couple of years here where an increasing number of players leave early. But as more and more go undrafted or don't make rosters, the numbers will drift back to whatever the market can bear.

That being said, I do think that all of the LSU players that have declared or are rumored to do so will be drafted. With the exception of Rasco, who I don't believe would be drafted or make a roster. All others, including Turner, AJ, and Ego, I do think have an above average chance of making a roster.

Man, he's graded as the fifth-best guard in the draft... two years from now

SBNation didn't have him in the top 15 of their guard prospects as of late November.

Collins I get, Turner I don't. That's a real shame too since OL was going to be our pronounced strength next year.
