If Rettig takes a redshirt this year and Harris refuses to redshirt next year, then they will both be freshmen when Harris arrives. Barring injuries, which one do you think have the better chance to play under Jennings? And when one of them wins the 2nd string job, do you see the other one stick it out or move on to another school?

I know it's probably way too early to discuss this and I like the recruitment of Harris, but it did raise a little concern (and it makes me feel bad personally) for having so many talented QBs on roster but knowing eventually some of these kids have to be the odd man out no matter how bad they want to play for LSU and how hard they fight their way up.

Holy shite. Let at least something happen with either one on campus before the pointless speculation starts.

I have no words for this thread...

But I do have a feeling that this will be at least 5 pages deep by tomorrow evening.

How the frick does one "refuse" to redshirt?

If a coach does NOT put the player into a game...he has REDSHIRTED. Harris is going to run into a game and take a snap on his own?

When is the last time LSU has had a truly elite QB? How many supposedly amazing QBs haven't panned out?

I'd rather get as many options as possible, and not put all our stock in another JJ, or throw another in before he is ready like Lee.

These guys choose to come to LSU to compete to play at the highest level.

The ones that see the writing on the wall usually will transfer out.

Competition will happen, that's what.

I think Rettig will improve as his body matures. And right now Harris should be worried about Captain Shreve and Airline, not Hayden Rettig and Anthony Jennings.

I think Mickey Guidry should get more playing time.

No need to make it up. All this kiddie BS nonsense is spewed out everyday on here. Hey, it might even be Chick Pea and his Bantam's throwing it out there to keep the board moving during the summer. You know, kind of like using the Finebaum and Guilbeau agitation technique to keep the Rant going.
