Exactly, if you're Alleva or any other employee on LSU's payroll, you play your cards close to the vest so you don't box yourself into a corner.

This x1000. Alleva stated that he would make a comment after the end of the season and has not backed himself into any corner. He has absolutely zero control on what boosters or media say and has no obligation to comment on those stories.

everyone on here bitching needs to get their panties out of a wad and calm the frick down. Seasons over tonight and then we will soon know what direction the people that get paid to make decisions for LSU decide to go. All will be well.

I can't believe all of these Alleva dick suckers.

He's not a good AD.
He wasn't at Duke.

He's thrown LSU under the bus and bent over and let the rec and the networks frick us over.

He is NOT GOOD FOR LSU

Alleva looks like the nutless wonder nationally now.

Alleva may come out like a rose. This has been in the works. That's the reason Chavis was not retained. Let it play out.

I'd wait to see who he has lined up to replace Miles.

If he has been having this in motion for a year and can't do a better job than this. I'm more worried than ever about what he is doing.

Any comment by Alleva would have been problematic.

If miles is out, it derails the process.

if he's not, you don't respond to every rumor

Rumor? It was a freaking report in the school's hometown newspaper by a reporter who has made his whole career on covering the Tigers. That's no ordinary rumor. It's the basis for the whole thing, and most of the reports afterward have been saying the same thing.

He had to nip that in the bud. Otherwise, Les becomes damaged goods for ever staying.

The way this debacle was handled was deplorable. All the negative attention LSU is getting rests squarely on Alleva's ugly shoulders.

He's had no balls when it came to standing up for LSU when it counts.

Agree 100%. This better work or he needs to be kicked in the vag and out the door.

Alleva said he'd make no comment until after A&M, and guess what? He hasn't.

That's the problem. He hasn't done anything but make a stupid statement like that which opens the whole situation to as much speculation as possible. How does an AD set by and do nothing while ESPN says/implies that your head coach is gone when you have not yet made that official? It is your job as an AD to handle these situations both publicly and behind the scenes. Alleva has totally left Les hanging out to dry and that pisses me of the most. I'm not saying Miles may not need to go but he deserves better than this. Les has been way too good to LSU and has done way too much for our university to be left dangling on a hook while our spineless sack shite AD hides. Thank God Les is the man he is because this could be even worse than it already is.

All of this will be 10x worse if Les isn't fired tonight with Jimbo locked in to replace him. If Miles stays, he will have been put the ringer for nothing as well made the program look unstable and probably destroyed a number 1 recruiting class. Or worse, he fires Les and brings in someone worse than him. Alleva is a joke and a snake. He needs to go.
