Have a downvote.

Too much analysis and excuse making. Develop a QB, build a program where juniors DO NOT WANT to leave early, and have an offensive system and scheme that is MODERN and plays the game as it's being played today, and problem solved. Also, having a more competent HC and/or OC, whichever it is, will help tremendously.

All of that will be negated by the following:

1) Les Miles

Could not have possibly said it better...and there is no rebuttal to this.

Why would you want to fire a coach that has finished in the top 15, seven out of ten years?
I hate our ignorant and entitled fan base.

To preface, I don't want to fire Les. He's does a lot of things really, really well as a HC. However, if we could hire a coach that could do better than Les, I would be all for it. Wouldn't you?

Moreover, some (including JaxTiger10) need to get over criticizing the "fan base" anytime "a" fan posts critically of Les. All things considered our fans are incredible.

How can you possibly control this? IMO, next to QB development, it's the single biggest drain from the success of the program.

The problem with this is that there is no coach out there that has a better resume than Les does and is willing to leave his current program.

-Saban
-Meyer
-Fischer

That's about it as far as certain improvement unless we were able to get an NFL HC.

That's why "if" was italicized. It would be easy do worse and very difficult to do better than Les as HC.

The quickest path to get to where we all want to go is for Les to get over '08 and use, really, fully use, the great talent he recruits on O. It's there.

It's there, but it's young. We definitely took some lumps last year and I hope that the players are using that as motivation to improve.

The group of skill players that we have on offense has the potential to rival the 2006 passing attack, but also with the complement of a dominant running game.

It's very hard to be patient with recruits when you pull in the big names like we do, but they have to make adjustments to college ball as well.

You get your players to buy into your system, giving them the sense that they can win a NC. You play the best players ALL the time. You dominate teams your supposed to. And finally, you make in-game decisions that instill confidence in the coaching staff rather than foster dissention and finger pointing.

And what if those players still prefer to make an NFL paycheck as soon as possible?

Enjoy this offseason, Miles haters. The next two years are going to force you back into your holes

Trust me, they will find something to complain about ie passing yds, pass attempt, run attempts, not hitting the WR in stride, they will find something.

I was going to wait until 30 days before Kickoff to bump this thread, but there has been way too much bullshite on this board as of late.

Anway, our QB play was so bad last year, anything short of the single greatest offseason improvement in history, we can still expect at least 2 losses solely due to qb play.

While I do believe Jennings is a lost cause, players who post a completion percentage below 50% rarely turn into good QB's, this is a wild overstatement.

Heck, TCU ranked 2nd in scoring last year (46.5). The previous year? 88th (25.1). This was based on the passing offense going from 73rd to 7th. Their total offense went from 106th to 5th. Looking at yards/play, TCU went from 105th (5.03) to 11th (6.68).

Meanwhile, LSU went from 7th (6.94) to 62nd (5.62). LSU is only one season removed from having one of the best offenses in the country. Improvement is not guaranteed or anything, but it would hardly be without precedent. And it's not like an effective LSU offense is something that hasn't happened very recently.

The difference between Jennings and the others is that to this point in his career he has shown no promise. Even if the others were inconsistent and even generally bad, they all played well at times. Still waiting for AJ to show just some sign of life.

I doubt he ever gets the chance... Harris is going to be the favorite for the starter due to off-field incidents. And he's more talented than any quarterback listed.

Ryan Perrilloux was the SECCG MVP as a redshirt freshman not that long ago.
