Just curious if anybody could give me the required scenario for LSU making the Sugar Bowl. I live out of state and have 4 tickets to the Sugar Bowl. Just trying to see if it is worth planning a trip. Thanks for the insight.

FSU must beat UF and Bama has to beat Georgia for it to be remotely possible

Florida would need to lose again, and Bama would need to beat UGA in SECCG...then maybe we get picked over UGA, Florida and South Carolina. Not looking good

Simple, lsu wins out and bama wins seccg. Leaving sugar bowl to pick between several two loss sec teams

Well UGA has no chance to beat bama, so there's that.

As already mentioned, Florida State needs to win. If that happens, I could could see us in a 2006 Sugar Bowl rematch, and hopefully it would bare a similar result

Florida state is more than capabale of beating florida. Bama's gonna roll UGA. i'd love a piece of notre dame or k-state in the sugarbowl

very likely and possible vs Notre Dame. Fla will lose to FSU and Ga will lose to Bama. If by some miracle, one of these does not happen then LSU is headed to Cotton vs Texas

Absolutely. If Florida State tears it up like they did early this season, ball game.

They have a very good chance of beating Florida and the game is in Tallahassee.

Brock Huard and the Samoan guy on ESPNU made their BCS projections today. One had UGA-ND and the other had Clemson-ND. Brad Edwards also didn't have us in the BCS. TIFWIW

Isn't it generally, not always, but generally the case that the loser of the SECCG gets a worse bowl than an SEC team that just missed the SECCG?

An example I can think of off the top of my head was in, just going off memory here so I may have the year wrong, but I think it was '05..... we got beat up by UGA in the SECCG and we played in the Chick Fil A bowl and tore up Miami.

Where did TN go in '07 when we beat them? I'm really asking. I have no idea what bowl they played in.

Seems like that's the case though, the loser goes to a lower tier bowl. Chick Fil A, Outback, Gator, something like that.

Most of these posts are correct. FSU over Florida, and Bama over UGA.

But LSU WILL NOT play ND. In fact, LSU is more likely to go to the Fiesta against K State.

If Sugar loses Bama, I believe they will take ND over any of the SEC teams as replacement.

Then the Rose has next replacement pick. I believe they will take Pac 12 team to replace Oregon or OU to renew the rivalry with Nebraska if they're feeling frisky.

Then Fiesta picks, and I believe they would take LSU, which I think would be awesome. I'd love to finally get a chance to play in a new BCS bowl, especially against an possible undefeated KSU and Heisman Trophy winner.

No way we make it back to Sugar with third pick IMO.

If the Sugar did happen to pick us as first replacement, no way the Rose and Sugar both pass on ND, so no LSU ND Sugar Bowl matchup this year.

In that case, I think Sugar would match us with Oklahoma, or hopefully Clemson.

Very realistic.

People saying it will be very hard aren't really right.

Florida State beats Florida.
Alabama blows out Georgia.

The vegas line will side with both of these.

LSU to the Sugar Bowl is what my money would be on.

Florida lose to FSU
UGA lose to Bama
K-State, ND, or Oregon lose

This would probably have us finish #4 and be automatic qualifier.

Without finishing #4, we need UGA and UF to lose and then we would pretty much be a shoe-in for Sugar.

Maybe, but with the new Champions Bowl in place on the horizon, if they can get an LSU/Oklahoma match-up this year, they might go for it.

Only way LSU could end up in Pasadena is if Stanford and Oregon beat Oregon State, and Oregon goes to the national championship game. Then that leaves both Oregon State and Stanford as 3-loss teams. Does the Rose Bowl really want that shitty of a match-up? The answer: probably so. They don't care.

This is accurate, if the Sugar passes on us.
