RB to WR?

From the Advocate this morning...

Miles said he and his staff have talked about possibly moving one of the running backs from a crowded backfield to wide receiver, but it may be a little early for that. “I’m not so certain he’s not our best tailback, so that’s one of the reasons we’re moving slowly there,”

Who is good enough to possibly be our best RB but also has the speed and height to play WR? Blue?

My guess would be Blue

Magee or Hill are the only two other RB's that it could possibly even be that I can think of. Magee would be my guess if I had to pick someone besides Blue.

This points to Blue. Miles has thought this about Blue for a while.

has to be Blue. He is not going to say that about Magee I don't think. Ford, Ware, Hillard, and Hill don't have WR diminsions

I gotta think Hill redshirts. He has been out of football for a year, and we are too crowded as it is.

Hill aint redshirting. He's a RB who has already been out of football a year. As soon as he's got a chance he'd probably split. He's not gonna be a 6 year guy. (one year off, RS, play 4)

The same thing was tried with Joseph Addai and he ended up back at RB

He's talking about Blue. OP didn't post entire writeup.

I think Blue is just as good as any RB LSU has on the roster. If he can pick up the WR position, get him on the field.

The same thing was tried with Josh Reed and he ended up with the Biletnikoff.

he couldn't be a 6 year guy anyway, in that scenario, he'd have one year off, RS, play 3)

You have 5 years to play 4 unless you took a RS early on and then get hurt a year or so later, then you can apply for a MRS only if you have draft potential. That's why they don't automatically give Med. RS's until well after the season.

you can only apply after you've played your senior year (5th year)

he means if he Redshirted and then played 4 years he would be 6 years removed from HS. So in his situation, it would be possible to be 6 years removed from HS in his senior year without getting a MRS. Also means that he can jump to the NFL after his true sophmore season as well.

we have 8 scholly WR's on the roster, you are telling me that half can't cut it? WTFO?

But if Blue is a taller version of Josh Reed and has the ability to make the transition to the position, he might be better than any of them. On the other hand, he was looking pretty f'ing good at RB last season.

At 6'2 215, Blue seems like the most logical choice. The idea is to have the best players on the field... With our talented group of running backs, this makes sense

I just thought about Blue making some downfield blocks for our running game. Wow. If it gets him on the field then great, but what does that say about our WR's if he is beating them out for a starting position?
