For Les and Cam to revamp the offense. We all know about their plan to visit some spread schools in the off season. Why not bring someone in from one of those schools on a permanent basis. For example, Baylor's RB coach is also the passing game coordinator. He's also starting to distinguish himself as a solid recruiter.

I know we need someone who knows New Orleans like Frank but with O on staff, is that more important than fixing the offense?

Would be awesome if we could find someone who checked all those boxes though.

Baylors run game works because it's setup by the passing game. At LSU the ratio is like 65/35

you need a NOLA local to recruit there. Plenty of good RB coaches meet that criterion, but it is crucial because we don't have a NOLA guy now that Frank is gone.

How much coaching up will the RB coach have to do with fournette and guice? I think the experience with new passing concepts would make up for that.

Exactly. Appreciate Cam and Les finally being willing to try something new but how much will they retain from a few visits? Hiring someone with a spread background would be a real commitment to change.

All true, but Frank would have told LSU how to move forward

Imagine that. You made a post that you had no clue what you were talking about and missed on it completely! Good job!

I'm of the opinion that we should move Ball from WR coach the RB's. If Ensminger can coach TE's and WR's fine. If not replace him with someone that can. Then use the leftover slot to hire a dedicated QB coach.

Too much fertile talent in NOLA area to have someone cover without existing relationships...Curtis Johnson would only be around for a couple of years so I would reach out to Juluke...he has the strongest existing relationships and has a ton of energy...would likely hang around for a number of years

What about Burton Burns?

Saban would not let allow a lateral move like that to happen...But without Frank, we need someone strong enough to counter coach Burton

Look at the difference between LF's freshman and sophomore years, as far as his running techniques. That's why you need coaching.

Curtis Johnson would be a good hire because he knows N.O. and has pro experience. He would be around long enough to get LSU through.

Don't disagree with that. Just think we have chance to get more out of this hire than a good recruiter
