Jaime Lloreda and Brandon Bass were on their way to the SEC championship until Jaime hurt is foot. That combo would have been one of the GOAT.

Let me just give you the best LSU frontcourts (since 1981).

1. 1990...Shaq, Stanley, Vernel, H Boudreaux, Wayne Simms

2. 2006...Big Baby, Tyrus Thomas, Tasmin Mitchell, Darnell LaZarre, Magnum Rolle

3. 2000...Swift, Jabari Smith, Bashara, Dupree

4. 2005...Bass, Big Baby, Regis Koundija, Neltner

5. 1981...Cook, Macklin, Leonard Mitchell, Black

6. 1986...Nikita Wilson, John Williams, Oliver Brown, Ricky Blanton, Zoran J* Never really materialized...all hypothetical

7. 2016 (and potential to move up)...Simmons, Victor, Bridgewater, Epps, Malone, Fats Elbert

8. 1992...Shaq, Vernel Singleton, Geert, Boudreaux

9. 2015...J Martin, J Mickey, Bridgewater, Malone, Odo

10. 2004...Bass, Lloreda, Kounidija, Neltner

Geert Hammink was also on that team- 3 centers drafted in the 1st round all by the Magic.

E is first bc Shaq. C and D not far behind. Too early to definitively decide where A belongs

Don't forget "

"ma man swat, long, lean got to trot, Leonard Mitchell he can sky, bat dat ball back in yo eye, Who Dat"

a fearsome threesome with Rudy and the Astronaut.

The 1990 front court was our best - Shaq (7'1"), Stanley (7'0"), Singleton (6'7"), Sims (6'6"), Boudreaux (6'9"), Burns (6'8"), Hammink (7'0") and probably a few others I'm forgetting.

The 1985 front court wasn't mentioned. While it underperformed in the tournament it was talented - Jerry Reynolds (6'8"), John Williams (6'8"), Nikita Wilson (6'8"), Zoran Jovanavich (7'0"), Jose Vargas (6'10"), Oliver Brown (6'6"), Ricky Blanton (6'6"), and Don Redden (6'6"). All of those guys should have been back the next year but Reynolds went pro early, Wilson was academically ineligible spring semester and Jovanvich got hurt and left early. Added to that list should have been talented (but flaky) Tito Horford (7'0") who left soon after the team picture was taken.

One of my favorite teams of all time - 1980 team had a very solid front court of Macklin (6'7"), Scales (6'9") and Cook (6'9"). Off the bench was a slow, but big and serviceable Rick Mattick (7'0"). There was also a little used FR forward, Tyrone Black (6'8"). Howard Carter (6'5", 230 pounds) would slide to forward when they went to a small lineup. One could make the case these guys were LSU's second best front court all-time behind the 1990 group but it is debatable.

If Mickey and Martin had returned this year to go along with Simmons and Victor, this year's group would have been second best behind 1990. Just with Simmons, it is at least 4th best all time.

Realistically not based on the team but Jabari and stromile were both hugely underrated. They could flat out play.
