Muschamp
Chavis
Pelini

Hard to tell Bc Saban probably did a lot of the defense with Muschamp and there were no spread offenses to deal with.

Chavis gets hate for the Bama melts but he rarely had a decent offense so any little mistake became a big problem. Hard to expect to beat Bama by scoring 13 points.

Pelini did great but fell apart in mid 2007 and was bailed out by the offense, which rarely happens at LSU. His defenses didn't look so swell at Nebraska but I didn't follow too close so I dunno what was going on there.

1)Saban (muschamp was definitely not the coordinator. Went to many practices and Saban was clearly running the D).
2)Arnsparger (not archer - see same note from above).
3)Pelini
4) Chavis
5)Malveto

I think 2011 was the best defense in LSU history so Chavis gets that credit. Even better than 2003 Bc of the diverse offenses faced in 2011

Tepper may be the best offensive coordinator in sec history for 2 years.

I'd have to agree with this. That defense even held Bama to FGs for nearly two complete games....until a late, meaningless touchdown when they were trying to make something happen on defense (because nothing was certainly happening on offense).
