Scott did a nice job with his commentary on Johnny Jones. It was fair and gave Jones a nod for being pure Purple and Gold LSU while at the same lacking the resume and results to become or remain the hoops coach.
Rabalais: inevitable and painful breakup
Contrast that with Higgins continually acerbic commentary and cheap attempts at humor. Higgins is petty and arrogant. He sounds like a spoiled brat.

Scott is a good journalist. Been reading him since he was at The Reveille back in school.

Higgins I don't know.

Higgins is an LSU grad who's Dad was Ace Higgins, LSUs first SID. He worked for years at the Memphis Commercial Appeal covering the SEC.

He's a very good sports writer. He tells it like it is. Not easy for some more sensitive readers.

Well aware of his history. He is not his dad. He's gone beyond the limits of telling it like it is. His commentary has not just been harsh, it's been mean spirited. Johnny Jones has done a lot more for LSU than Higgins. Sensitivity has nothing to do with it. I'm willing to bet Higgins is a lot like a certain businessman turned politician. He can dish it out but can't take it.

I like Scott. Most of his articles do a good job of covering both sides of the coin, like good journalism should.

Boy, you're so right. Higgins is honest. The truth upsets sometimes.

He's such a great writer he suggest Kim Mulkey for men's head basketball coach. He's a dipshit
