I was watching the Northwestern game against Maryland the other night and there was constant conversation regarding RPI/SOS and how Northwestern would earn their respect during Big 10 play. My question for the rant is would you rather LSU play a weaker OOC schedule, maybe with one or two tough OOC opponent, and be in the position that Northwestern is in with a 13-2 record or the current situation with some tough losses in the OOC against pretty decent teams? Thanks and

Definitely playing good teams OOC. Gives you a much better chance of making the dance even with a lot of losses. TCU went undefeated last year in OOC and got crushed in conference play, didn't even make the dance.

The reason I ask is because I see fans completely implode after an average OOC, but playing and losing a few does not seem as it is the final straw.

I think that's called a half-Trent. A full-Trent is when they don't even win against the weak OOC teams and only schedule like 4 or 5 OOC games.
