How does the entire nation see Beckwith as a top three Mike linebacker in the country this season and Chavis needed a Welter meltdown at State and Auburn to finally decide to pull the trigger on Beckwith? This is one glaring mistake is worse than his lack of recruitment and end game defense, in my opinion.

So you are saying that him not starting a wet behind the ears kid is worse than last minute drive losses to Bama 2 out of 3 seasons?

You're assuming Chavis was the reason Beckwith didn't play, isn't that a big assumption?

U need to edit your post about the white guy r it will get whacked! Someone on here gets butt hurt
When u mention his name. I agree though, and what really gets me now is kwon is the starting middle linebacker for the bucks! The white guy should've never been staring period

Chavis makes the decisions on defense. Miles is an offensive guy. Welter being played ahead of Beckwith should be the LB coach and the DC's fault. Chavis happens to be both. Miles forced Chavis to play Beckwith over his personal favorite Welter.

As much as I despise Chavis right now, I seriously doubt that was solely his decision

Chavis could coordinate a defense but he didnt have clue #1 on seeing talent, probably also the reason he can't recruit.

Moving Beckwith to DL and letting Welter meltdown for 1.5 years is one of the most frustrating things we had to live with defensively the last 2 seasons.

As much as I am disappointed in many decisions Miles has made,

Chavis does not and will never have the Class of Les Miles

He was the LB coach and the defensive coordinator. Miles is hands off with the defense completely.

Chavis totally botched Beckwith's development and he should be ridiculed for it.

It's hard to change up a defense with no time outs available in the middle of a two minute offense. You're blind if you can't see an inexperienced raw talent like Beckwith is much better than a veteran guy who can't make any plays

This.

After getting gashes by Miss St where Beckwith barely played, Miles said that Beckwith was supposed to play a lot more than he did and he's not sure why he barely saw the field. Next game vs New Mexico St, he and Welter rotated series. Then the next game was vs Auburn. Welter got benched and Beckwith was the man at MLB the rest of the year.

Miles even said publicly himself he and Chavis had a come to jesus meeting about playing Beckwith over Welter.

Chavis likes small fast guys. He doesn't play 250lbs LB's. That's why Beckwith was a DE for his first year.
