We have a commitment for the 2016 class from a left handed QB. It is always important to have a great left tackle to protect the blind side of the QB. When the QB is a lefty does that change the whole dynamic of the Oline? Do you then have to have a right tackle that has the skill set of a left and is it often that a kid recruited to be a left tackle can make the switch to right tackle?

The footwork and hand placement is different for the position. A guy like Ethan Pocic, who is versatile should be a target recruit.

It used to be a left handed QB meant strong side to the right. TE on Right side to protect QB's blind side.
But it really depends on the coaches. One problem with switching formations, is at practice with your back up QB unless he's left handed as well.
Teams have done it both ways. Seems to me Denver didnt change with Tebow. Munoz stayed at left tackle with Esiason as well.

As other posters have said, shouldn't change recruiting or makeup of the o-line
The biggest adjustment will be for the receivers, expect to see some drops until they get used to the ball spinning backwards

As a former OT who played both Left and Right, it's really not that difficult to learn the other side. The steps and stance are different, and the plays are just reversed. We had "big" packages where we would take an OT from one side of the line and play him as the strong side TE, and put the TE at the weakside Tackle spot, so we had to be pretty versatile to be able to make that change in footwork.

That said, I would imagine as a coach you could put your stronger pass blocker at RT, and it wouldn't be too big of an issue as far as the capabilities of the linemen.

the ball spinning backwards

Dang! Now that would be a wounded duck! I am left handed and the ball may spin in the opposite direction but not backwards! It wont be a problem for any good receiver.

You make an interesting point. All I can say is that the Raiders did not move Shell to RT when they had Stabler.
